The regular calibration cubes may not be the best thing to calibrate a printer. Edges and particularly the bottoms can be distorted. If you measure the overall size this can yield a slightly inaccurate measure of scale. This thing has lines and diamonds on both horizontal and vertical faces at 25mm spacing. In addition to being esthetically pleasing these test patterns' regular lines should serve well to identify a number of delta calibration issues. These patterns should give pretty good bed coverage, and allow you to spot a variety of irregularities in your delta calibrations. These patterns are 260mm across and 2mm high. I needed a super simple, super quick test pattern to test the z-offset on my BLTouch so I whipped this up in FreeCAD. All it is is a 150mm square bisected horizontally and vertically with one solid circle in each corner and one solid circle in the middle. The lines are all 0.8mm wide (2 perimeters with a standard 0.4mm nozzle); the corner circles are all 8mm in diameter; and the center circle is 16mm in diameter. Cura defaults to a 0.3mm layer height for the first layer, so that is the height...

Just made this to pinpoint any issue with my Prusa Mendel. It should work to test out any machine (in theory of course). I created a 140mm one (since my calipers only go to 150mm) to check my Prusa Mendel, but I made one at 90mm too for the MakeBots out there. The circle (which is half the size: 140mm object = 70mm circle) should be pretty hi-res so you can check if your belts are loose and stuff. This also helps check the level of your build platform. I used this object to really fine tuning...

After plate swap, filament change, or other modifications and changes which may affect nozzle distance or adhesion, I like to print a quick test pattern, especially before possibly ruining a bigger print job. This is one of the test patterns I use for this purpose.
