When i tired to use Allen wrench every time i need to change filament or fix filament-jam, i decided to do this little helper, so i could easy screw\unscrew bolts with my bare hands. Fits to any M3 bolt. Useful for those who have Greg's Wade (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:17030) and remixes like (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:188244) - that's me, on my Vision+ printer ))

The hexagon in the big gear was about a mm too big and the source didn't allow me to recreate the gear. So I loaded the model in OpenSCAD and "patched" it. Diameter was about 16mm and is now 15mm. Perfect for my hobbed bolt!

Revision1 - Sep. 25, 2017: Update Idle (it was wrong); Upload funky big gear; loaded new 3d views. This is a remix from Nophead's mendel90 wades extruder. (Made for E3D v6) with Prusa i3 MK2 Multi Material Y- Piece Simple idea to convert your printer into a duo material. This Hybrid model combines a Directdrive for the everyday print (maybe flexibles) and a Bowden extruder for the second material. Both gears are exactly the same as original NopeHead's design Use 4mm O.D. tubing to create the...

Some people get away without using springs on wade's geared extruder (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1794), but I felt that this was too sensitive to being over/under tightened. I wasn't able to find appropriately sized springs at the local hardware store either. I did cut some longer springs down to size, but I also made these. At least in the short term, they seem to work about as well as actual springs. The biggest difference is that they don't have as much travel. In my opinion, that...

Update: V3 is available here http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:763041 Korri on thingiverse made this. I completely re-did it in 123D so that it can mount lower and fits a i3 Rework E3D Extruder: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:257811 http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:415175 (1.75mm) I used a LJ12A3-4-Z/BX sensor with this thing. The previous mount from Korri wasn't low enough to hold it and have it sense the build plate.

Once I get to the bottom of a roll of filament i can't print for more than an hour without it jamming as the end of the roll has a tight coil on the filament and this kept causing the extruder to jam. So i designed this quick fix. It makes sure that the filament going into the extruder is nice and strait. Since I've had this on I've not had a single print jam! I'm using a Robo3D printer, as far as i know the Greg's wade on there is the same as any other but let me know if I'm wrong.

Prusa i3 Rework Jhead Compact Extruder for 1.75mm and 3mm filaments. Designs based on the Wade Extruder but much smaller. This Compact design came with new problems because of the shorten of the Jhead hotend. One that was very noticeable was the x-carriage distance to the glass, only 9 mm. Resulting in x-carriage catching the bulldog clips on the back and front of the heated bed when printing long prints. Solution: smaller clips on the sides. Another problem was that the Z-Axis Endstop needed...

For use with Prusa i3 Rework X-Carriage. The inspiration came from [ch1t0's i3 extruder design](http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:76660). I initially began designing this extruder to work with the [E3D Hotend](http://e3d-online.com) because of the sloppy fit on the original version but the one thing I really wanted, was to install 60mm cooling fans. In addition I design a E3D 40mm shroud that works with v4, v5., plus a Dual 50mm Cooling fan holder and a 60mm Cooling Fan Holder. 2 different...

This is a retrofit stepper design for anyone wanting to get rid of the DC motor filament pusher. It uses the MK5 hot end. Edit: I ended up having to make an aluminum idler pulley. The printed ABS idler pulleys work for a while but eventually get a flat spot and stop working. The big benefit of this design is that you can cam it open and have full inspection or cleaning ability in seconds. Oh, and it uses a stepper which allows you to use the Skeinforge 35 reversal module, which will allow your...

**Updates** ***April 4th 2015***: Remove the hole for Hex nut because the nut was breaking the part when it twisted **Summary:** The great part with this extruder is that the filament is properly guided to the hobbed bolt. I was fed up with standard Greg's extruder where i nearly needed to remove the pressure screws every time i wanted to change my filament. With this system that question is obsolete as the filament is always properly guided from the dedicated top hole, to the bottom hole. The...

Extruder based on http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:456025 I have added the hole for J-Head and some screw holes to keep JHeads fixed. This part is for 3mm filaments You will need to generate support to print this part. I liked this part because it's strong between the 2 ball bearings. I have already broken 2 extruders exactly on this specific spot and this design was the one i was looking for except that i needed the hole for the hot end.

You will need 2 M4 50mm hex bolts, I found mine at lowes. Just print off the two parts, and thread the bottom part onto the bolt, it will be a snug fit. Currently the bottom and top are just friction fit together, you may want to add some glue.

Tensioner knob for M3 Screws/bolts. Intended for use with belt tensioners, extruder tensioners or generally anywhere you would rather use your hand than a screwdriver. Ensure that you print it the correct way up, there is a 1 layer thick solid section to support the hole. It is otherwise symmetrical. This is an improved variation of philsson's 40 mm fan duct. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:184055 There is now a bit more height at the two screw mounting slots. I improved the air flow in the duct again, by creating a transition between the main plenum and the ring duct. There should be even more air flowing to cool the extruded material now. I've also directed the flow of air around the nozzle a bit better. I had printed a few big herringbone gears for a Wade style extruder and they came...

Big high resolution herringbone gear with true 12.8 mm hexagon bolt head socket. I've also added a second version with a 13 mm socket, just in case someone needs that little bit of clearance. Some people have been pointing out that the previous version http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:97377/#files has a hexagon bolt head socket hole that is 14 mm wide. Somehow that ended up fitting my M8 bolts just fine, even though my bolt heads are the standard 12.8 mm wide.

Updated version is here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:201638 This is a(now outdated) quick variation of philsson's 40 mm fan duct. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:184055 I've added a 9 mm by 16 mm opening to help provide cooling air flow to the PEEK body of the J-Head. The theory is that it would reduce the chances of PLA jamming. It may also be beneficial for use with ABS, but I'm not using it with that kind of plastic at the moment.

This is still just a quick variation of philsson's 40 mm fan duct. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:184055 This time I increased the size of the duct a bit, so there should now be a little bit more air flowing to the extruded material. I've also tried to control the flow of air around the nozzle a bit better. I had printed a few big herringbone gears for a Wade style extruder and they came out distorted. Design is currently untested! I decided to release it early. This is a simplified version of thing #4824. I took out the stem of it so the stepper hangs off the other side of the extruder. This means you only need one extra 606 bearing. It also means a lot less wasted plastic. Also, instead of a NEMA 17 mount, I changed the mounting pattern to be for the Kysan gearmotor so that you can use this upgrade on a MK3, MK4, MK5, or Brutstruder. I will be using this with a Brutstruder so that's the...

Although it has been updated I liked this original design. As stated in its documentation you need to adapt it for your own use. I needed it for a MakerBot with an MK4 hotend. I know there a few adapter plates out there but I decided to go for an integral design. I had been using a Brutstruder http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4036 which in turn uses Zaggo's Printable Extruder Holder http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1912 and having good luck so I decided to go along these lines in adapting this....

As I was opening and closing my extruder more often than I cared to because of filament stripping, chasing washers and springs all over the place, I got inspired to create a quick and easy alternative to the two tensioning screws.

Yet another extruder design, but this one is designed to be built with simple tools for tightfisted repstrappers like me, who want to build it themselves, not just buy it. It's about the journey... You know how it is; you're building your RepStrap and there's very few ways of building the extruder; you have to buy parts that you can't re-use when you print a Mendel, or use a compromised design in the knowledge a new extruder is about the first thing you're going to have to print before your...

I had some difficulties to get the wade screw ready properly. I tried the tap-method but was not successful so I decided to try the teeth version. This "thing" will show a method to get a desired amount of teeth into the bolt and how to divide the surface of this screw into exactly same sized teeth. You will find all about the wade extruder here: http://reprap.org/wiki/Wade's_Geared_Extruder ...and here on Thingiverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1794 Can actually also be used on...

This is a remix to cool the hot end and the object at the same time much more easier. Now even with a naked mount.

This is my simple model for the fan holder/housing for a Wade filament extruder for 3D printers. With this housing you can get better 3D printings and avoid the supporting material because material bridges become strong.
