Computer Vision domain holds the promise of finding solutions to the most arduous issues of today. Analyzing and deciphering an image clearly with the aim of gathering more insight, especially without any human intervention is the ideal goal. With this aim in mind, it would be highly desired to have an autonomous detector that measures the reading given by a fire gauge which is mounted off a fire exterminator.

Fingerprint is the dominant trait between different biometrics like iris, retina, and face. A fingerprint is the pattern of ridges and valleys on the surface on a fingertip. Now days itself this method is very powerful because of their immutability and uniqueness of patterns .immutability means the patterns by ridges and valleys are permanent and unchanged. Many techniques have been proposed for pattern recognition in fingerprint, most of them being based on minutiae and singular point. In the...

Hand gesture recognition system has developed excessively in the recent years, reason being its ability to cooperate with machine successfully. Gestures are considered as the most natural way for communication among human and PCs in virtual framework. We often use hand gestures to convey something as it is non verbal communication which is free of expression. In our system, we used background subtraction to extract hand region. In this application, our PCs camera records a live video, from...

Talking about gestures makes us return to the historical beginning of human communication, because, in fact, there is no language completely free of gestures. People cannot communicate without gestures. Any action or movement without gestures is free of real feelings and cannot express the thoughts. The purpose from any hand gestures recognition system is to recognizes the hand gesture and used it to transfer a certain meaning or for computer control or and device. Our paper introduced a low...

This is a robot that can catch the balls you throw at it, using computer vision. It uses two PS3 Eye cameras to triangulate the ball's position, and moves a Cartesian coordinate robot accordingly. The robot and its software was developed by a team of four high school students, in two and a half weeks, at Rose Hulman's "Operation Catapult" Engineering program. It won the Best Project Award. The robot's design was inspired by the mechanics of generic 3D printers and CNC machines, but...

Recently picked up an OAK-D Lite camera for some of my hobby projects, which can be found here. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/opencv/opencv-ai-kit-oak-depth-camera-4k-cv-edge-object-detection Has a real nice glass face so I wanted to make a very simple case to protect it. Forward-deployed maneuver sustainment operations, such as Forward Arming and Refueling Points (FARPs), are a critical center of gravity that adversaries seek to disrupt or destroy in order to jeopardize friendly scheme of maneuver and operations. With adversaries’ increased ability to attack such operating bases through indirect fire and infiltration, it becomes more difficult for perimeter defense assets to maintain situational awareness in order to respond to threats. This is an initial attempt at creating a basic JeVois camera module mounting plate that will fit common tripods and 1/4" UNC bolt fixings. I used the mounting pattern from http://jevois.org/doc/CaseMounting.html - the official documentation state that the JeVois case mounting holes are spec'd for M2.5/2-56 screws, but I found that M2 screws had the right diameter to bite the plastic without being over-tight. I'd recommend M2x6 screws to account for the 1mm countersink in the plate - I also...

Perimeter surveillance of forward operating locations, such as Forward Arming and Refueling Points (FARPs), is crucial to ensure the survivability of personnel and materiel. FARPs are frequently located well outside the protective cover of the main forward operating bases. Therefore, they must provide their own organic perimeter defenses. Such defenses are manpower intensive. Our research investigates how cheap, remote, unattended sensors using commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components can...

The people of India are mainly dependent on the agriculture and allied field. In order to alleviate the crisis on farming fronts, it is necessary that we should discover new mechanisms by which farmers are adequately and rightfully compensated for their labour. That is the reason why an autonomous robot had to be made in order to reduce the labour and labour costs of farming in India. Fruit plucking is an important process in farming. An autonomous robot which could pluck fruits on its own in a...

This is a modular frame-system being designed because of my thesis. It is used to detect ArUco markers from both sides (front and back). However, it can also be used for any other paperlike objects such as photos. 3D Print instructions: - 1 perimeter is enough. Infill at 15%. - You need 2 of the printed half-frames for one frame. - You need at least 1 holding clip for fixation. However, I suggest using 12 of them, arranged like in the first picture. Use a brim if printing more than one at once....
