he moved back home with us and live at home with us. even us as his parents did not know the extent of his struggles with the diabetes. he did not have health care. when he could get what insulin he could, he had to ration it. what happened is with the diabetes and not being able to get a job, he felt like a failure. he did not have anywhere to turn. where could he go? we could only help him so much ourselves. we are working class. we have three sons, a mortgage, car payments, we pay ourselves close to $10,000 a year for health insurance. we pay $184 a month. really, that adds up to our mortgage minus the escrow a month for what we pay for our health insurance. on top of that, still pay for prescriptions and out-of-pocket for things. i feel that our system failed my son. if there would have been somewhere where he could have gone to get the help he needed to get the medication he needed, not only for diabetes but for his mental health. not even just mental health -- medication, counseling, therapy, he could be with us today. unfortunate
