blayne alexander joins us from atlanta. blayne, good day to you. you've heard some reaction to the decision, right? >> reporter: absolutely, alex. we're talking about this disturbing trend we're seeing, since january 1, in fact according to the faa, we've now seen more than 2,500 incidents of passengers behaving badly while in flight or on board. more than 75% of the incidents have to do with people who just don't want to abide by mask requirements. the latest of course is what we saw on southwest airlines, a flight attendant had two of her teeth knocked out. one of those passengers is now facing charges for that incident. we saw this during the pandemic, the airlines essentially said they were going to limit the service or limit sales of alcohol because they wanted to limit interactions between passengers and flight attendants. but now southwest and american airlines have decided to extend that ban because of this unruly behavior. here is some new reaction from the head of the flight attendants union who says this is ridiculous and needs to stop.
