jersey, um people of color in new jersey are determined by state lawmakers in new jersey not by lawmakers in washington not by the terms of the national constitution. so how do you want us to think about that? i can say in my own work i have tried to level that you know that seemingly bright line between state constitutions and federal constitutions, but i'm not sure i've succeeded, but i wanted to know more expressly sort of your take on how in this period we should think about the relationship between those two sort of systems of governance. yeah, so for me, i think what i do because in in part having written such a big book on constitutional as i was like, i'll talk a little bit less about it in this book. so i was happy to put a lot of that aside the part. that's probably most explicitly about constitutions is you know, someone else might have made this a bigger part of their book but a couple pages where i um where i i believe that the us constitution was written in its very dramatic gender-neutral form where a person he is the vocabulary use and he is a gender-neutral term there bec

around the world can come to new jersey? >> i would say it this way, women are welcome and respected in new jersey, and we live by the mantra that these sorts of decisions are decisions solely between a woman and her doctor. and that's what we have stood for and we will always stand for that, whether you're from new jersey or you come to new jersey. >> as we speak, lawmakers in louisiana are debating a bill that would allow prison time for doctors who perform abortions. and in one it ration of this bill, though it sounds like they're pulling back from this particularly extreme version, it would actually charge women who get aworgs abortions with murder. how do you respond when you hear what other states are doing? >> it's disinterred gusting. let's all remember that this was a right that women have had for almost 50 years. and it's being taken away from them. if that weren't enough, they are being criminalized. other folks associated with abortions are being criminalized in half the country. it's appalling. as i say, we will

that's the example of new jersey. could i ask you to for a couple of minutes drill into the example of new jersey? i, like many folks, glancingly understood that women had voted early in new jersey. early in the 18th century. there is this moment than when they're closes down. it seems to me a strong way of illustrating the point you are just making. >> new jersey, this is the fact that women and people of color vote in new jersey in this period. it has been a fact that people know about. the american revolution did it great exhibit on it. i know that new jersey state are guys have done a lot of work. there's a number of women historians who worked on. it it floated over here. it is a strange fact. let's push it out. this book tries to center it as an example of a central fact. new jersey had a constitution that, a state constitution, that describe people who can participate based on the word inhabitants. it did not say male. in fact, the massachusetts constitution is pretty unique. in putting mail in. under that cons

do you see a shortage in new jersey, given the expected increase in demand? >> no question. all the states i have seen in the last eight years convert from medical to adult use, this is the most underserved of all the states in terms of the capacity and retail dispensing locations. to put that into perspective, illinois of, which had something like 60 dispensaries, we have 13, they had i think almost one million square feet of cultivation, we have less than 500,000. this is a state almost equal in size so yes, we are going to be underserved for some period of time. but that is good news because we are the largest operator in the state. over 30% market share, the largest distribution capability as well as cultivation capabilities. in the short-term, that will play. jon: before we let you go, just to clarify, when there is the tighter market, i imagine that helps your profit margins? >> we anticipate growth margins well over 80%. -- margins nearing 55%. very substantial margin increases in the stage during that period of time where the market is undersupplied. we anticipate th

a teenager has been killed after digging in the sand on the new jersey shore. just the latest in a string of reason cases like this. here's abc's report he. >> reporter: this morning, one teenager is dead. another rescued after sands collapsed on them at this new jersey beach. >> one is buried up to the chest. another one is below the sands. >> reporter: first responders were seen frantically passing buckets of sands late tuesday, trying to rescue the two teens who were reported trapped in tom's river. police say the two were digging a large hole in the sand when it collapsed on them. 18-year-old levi who was visiting from maine, died. his 17-year-old sister got out alive. and we've seen similar tragedies in reason weeks. in utah last saturday, a 13-year-old died after sand collapsed on him while he was digging into the side of a dune at a state park. family members saw it happen. about 25 minutes later, ean's body was recovered. six and a half feet beneath the sand. >> it is pretty rare. the biggest thing we see is holes on the beach. >> reporter: in santa cru
