in each of these five states it was joe biden who won the election, so those states sent biden electors to cast the state's votes in the electoral college. but nevertheless in michigan, wisconsin, georgia, nevada, and arizona, at least, republicans filed fake documents claiming that those states had actually picked trump electors who were going to cast the state's electoral college votes for trump. in the last few days here, thanks to reporting from nicholas wu at politico.com and thanks to public records requests filed by the watchdog group american oversight, we have been able to obtain and show you all five of those forged documents from republicans in those five states. crucially what we've noticed is that this doesn't seem to have been an instance in which five disparate groups of people in five different states all had the same forgery idea coincidentally at the same time and they just independently all happened to do the same thing. if you look at the false documents that these five states or that republicans in these five states sent in to congress and sent in to the national ar

according to "the hill," the republican state leadership committee which handles secretary of state races, raised a total of $33 million in 2021. meanwhile, the democratic association of secretaries of state raised just $1 million during the first six months of last year. nationwide, 26 secretary of state position will be on the ballot this year, 14 of which are currently held by republicans and 12 by democrats. and it only takes a few races to massively change the balance of an electoral college, electoral power because in many states, secretaries of state play a decisive role in determining how election results get certified. one way to stop all this would be comprehensively voter protections like those senate democrats could pass right now if they united by eliminating the filibuster reforms to our electoral counting system would also be useful. but one of the easiest solutions would be to beat republicans at their own game. right-wing figures like steve bannon have been encouraging followers to run for state and local offices for a while, and it's been having a major impact. democrats

to our beautiful state. we're so happy you've chosen to call this your new home. we have so much to learn from you. but if i might make just one small request, please don't attempt to change us into the place you just left. you see, utah's maintained a high quality of life and abundant opportunity for our residents through practical, common sense governance and it's absolutely critical that all of us do everything in our power to keep it that way. legislators, this session i ask for your support of new bills spearheaded by representatives joel ferry, steve waldron, joe briscoe and senator jake to remove government regulations that needlessly increase utah's housing prices. we can increase supply without decreasing the quality of life. i recognize this will not be easy we cannot let our state become california. force first time ever, people on the front are experiencing something from those of us from rural utah felt for far too long. the terrible realization their kids and grandkids might not be able to live
