so i'm a san franciscan of san francisco -- i am a san francisco son of san francisco. i want to thank you all of you supervisors for even considering number 7 and number 8. and i want to thank you in advance for considering adding all veterans to it. and i also looked at both sides being a case manager, and the side of rehabilitation and we definitely need that for the veterans. but i also look at the business side of it and that is we definitely here in san francisco want to increase business due to the situation with covid, so veterans would be bringing their families. and that would increase some funding in the areas in the parks and recreation centers. so i am looking at a dual success happening and taking place here. if we can add the veterans when they bring their families and what they will be spending time here in san francisco. profits will be increased for the restaurants and quite a few places including the parks. so i think it's a positive thing if we can work this out. thank you, board of supervisors, for everything you're doing and everything you're going

at san francisco general. it served approximately 1800 patients over the last year, we also have partnerships with community organizations in the neighborhood that serve older adults. one that i'm particularly proud of is senior health services that runs our senior center which provides services for 1200 older adults, many of which are living in supportive housing or experiencing homelessness. next slide, please. so again, to reiterate, behavioral health services serves older adults throughout our neighborhood. please note, for example, that across all our residential programs with behavioral health, for people with behavioral health needs, almost 50% of people served are older adults over the age of 60. one particular impact to know and which has been mentioned before and is a major challenge that we're trying to address, particularly through mental health san francisco, san francisco's lost approximately 27 board and care facilities over the last five years, which provided 163 beds in total. 67 of those beds

the crime statistics in san francisco. and i just want to back up and put things into perspective. first of all, it's been a challenging year. we say that over and over again, but we also understand the challenges everyone is living with whether it's people who've lost their jobs and homes. kids that who aren't in school. those that struggle with mental health challenges and a number of other issues. sadly, in san francisco, we have seen certain crime statistics increase, but we've seen others decrease. and the chief will get into those more specifically. now, despite dealing with this pandemic and seeing a number of people especially with the omicron variant out sick, we've seen that happen not just with people in san francisco, but many of our city workers including those from our police and fire department. the public safety arm of san francisco. and i just want to take this opportunity to really thank our police officers, many of them have had to do overtime because we've had hundreds of officers out as a result of omi

francisco with some changes to covid-19 rules and guidance in san francisco. health officials are recommending whenever possible that you where in kn95 or n95 masks and if it's not possible they recommend you use a surgical mask with a cloth faced covering over it to protect yourself. there are also changes when it comes to mega events. the threshold for something to be considered a large event in a high risk setting includes any gathering of 500 people indoors or more than 500 people out doors. this means starting february 1 if you're attending what is considered a mega event like a warriors game and are 12 and older, you will be required to show proof that you are fully vaccinated at least two weeks before entry. for 16 and older you will also have to show proof you've gotten your booster at least one week before the event. for those 12 and 15 you will not have to show proof of a booster until march. between ages of 5 and 11 you have to show proof of vaccination or negative covid test. >>> let's take a look at the roadways. a live look at the bay bridge toll
