let's turn now to our meteorologist mabrisa rodriguez. that's such an improvement, but we're staying dry for a couple more days. so how are we going to do here? >> well, the good news is justine. we're heading in the right direction. this was just a week ago with our drought monitor map. most of us under this tan severe category. but you could see a huge chunk of the east bay even heading into the south bay under that red extreme category. but look at today's drought monitor map released today. we're all under that 10 category as a sacramento, modesto, even livermore. so we still have a long way to go still in a drought. but hey, any time we see improvement with the drought monitor, i get rea-ly excited. and we are tracking, though, like you mentioned, fairly dry conditions out there. increase in cloud cover did have the storms sweep through the bay area. fortunately didn't really make its track as far south to give us some rain for us. even in the north bay, dry conditions. but we did notice some cooler temperatures. thanks to that incre

kron. 4 meteorologist mabrisa rodriguez here tonight with a look at what's on the way for tomorrow. yeah. hard. >> niners are certainly going to love thawing out when they return to our mild bay area forecast. let's take a look at temperatures today. widespread mid to upper 60's with the exception of santa rosa warming up into the mid 70's. so certainly looked and felt more like spring out there. gusty winds wreaked havoc for allergy suffers like myself. i know i've been sneezing and sniffling all day, but check out that 17 degree difference for santa rosa. your average daytime high should be upper 50's. instead you are in the mid 70's and even downtown san francisco. 67 degrees. would you should be in the upper 50's. so let's take a look at what we can expect future cast for tracking a very dry and clear pattern. even with those calmer winds still going to see that change in wind direction out of the north. so it's going to push that low fog bank and even high clouds out of our forecast. a lot of sunshine for the 2nd half of your weekend. very clear night out there and noticeably c

our meteorologist mabrisa rodriguez is here now with the breaking details. so what areas are now in the clear from the tsunami advisory? >> yeah, we're tracking some much improvement out there throughout the coastal waters here in the golden state. so we did have that tsunami advisory in effect for santa cruz county and even monterey county. those have been allowed to expire. so now it's on the central coast coastline all the way from san luis obispo county into santa barbara county. wouldn't be surprised if that will begin to expire within the next half hour to hour or so. and that's going to remain in effect through tonight. dangerous rip currents review could get swept out to sea because of the strong forces out there from that volcanic eruption. so great news. we are noticing improvement with that. that advisory allowing to expire little by little throughout the california coastline here at home in the bay area that expired about half an hour ago and future cast for tracking some changes in the extended outlook for the 2nd half of your long holiday weeke

boy, what a difference 24 hours makes kron 4 meteorologist mabrisa rodriguez here tonight. >> with a look at just how powerful these winds were as the whipped through the area last night. >> yeah, there were nearly 100 miles per hour, jonathan and just seen especially along the healdsburg hills geyser peak and pine flat road. most of the gusty east winds in the north bay, specifically the highest peaks there. oakland tracking at least 60 mile per hour. wind no surprise there for the downed trees and power lines and half moon bay. 55 mile per hour. wind fortunately tonight, no wind advisories are high wind warnings to contend with tracking calmer conditions. but in our north bay highest peaks could still see gusts upwards of about 45 miles per hour or less sustained winds at 30 miles per hour. for those of you in sonoma. but as i fast forward to sunday morning, look at how gusty it gets a longer co specifically for those of you at half moon bay. so still tracking northerly winds impacting those areas. but then we're all going to notice calmer winds speeds by sunday afternoon into sund

our meteorologist mabrisa rodriguez is here now with details. finally get to see some blue sky and some sun. so what's the chance for next storm system it went again? honestly, justine, chances are looking slim to none. in fact, we're going to track this dry weather pattern for the days ahead. not just through this weekend. >> but starting today we are seeing right now rain summary with downtown san francisco averaging about 183% of normal. fortunately, we've had a lot of atmospheric rivers and storms to start out our wet season. and oakland right now, 204% of normal. so thankfully, we got a lot of wet weather because we're tracking a drying trend starting right now. and as i show you in our future cast model, it's going to continue all weekend long and even into next week, we're going to see mostly cloudy skies. on monday, there was a slight chance of showers can't even track the storms off the coast anymore. so that's just how dry of an outlook i'm seeing and even into tuesday and wednesday mix of sun and clouds by thursday. there is a chance

but to talk about that as well as your forecast kron on meteorologist mabrisa rodriguez joining us right now. hi mabrisa. hey there, theresa, very hazy, sunny conditions that's going to continue not just throw today. >>but lasting throughout the weekend as well. so we are going to see moderate air particles because of these above average and dry conditions out there right now in the bay area. we did have our latest drought monitor map released today and we saw a little change for most of the bay area with the exception of half of the east bay. remember, just a week ago we were under that extreme drought category that reddish color that impacted a little bit more than half of the east bay. but now, as you can see, it's turning more of this orange chan colors. so we're all under this severe drought category, noticing some improvement, but we still have a long way to go. at least we are heading in the right direction. as far as our drought goes. but we are tracking hazy skies throughout today, lasting all weekend long. and we're seeing some high cloud cover as well. bringing us slightly coo
