a lot of people were calling for kyle shanahan's job. lot of doomsday naysayers were out there saying things about this team. they come back. they reach their second nfc championship game and 3 years. so. feeling like they have something to be proud of. and that it's pretty much the sentiment that a lot of the team was echoing after the game. >> they have pretty are in the locker room. i think guys, next couple really start to settle in a little bit. you know, motions awry after game win or loss and it things got to be, you snow, glad it happened. just, you know, smile think about the good you know, we'll see what happens in these next couple days, weeks, whatever. but i love this team just a bit. the fighting a battle on this team entire year has been really impressive. i love those guys. just the personalities. how we fight for each other. the style that we played with the whole year. i mean, that's something that i'm very proud of as a coach because you can say anything you want, but if you have the right, people don't really matter.

head coach kyle shanahan says all pro offensive tackle trent williams is dealing with an ankle sprain. his status is unclear for the nfc championship game this weekend. losing him would really hurt the o-line on the positive side starting cornerback ambry thomas is recovering quickly from a bone bruise in his knee. there is a good chance he'll play this weekend after sitting out against green bay chan said he's hopeful thomas can practice in some capacity tomorrow. that would be a nice boost to the secondary. as for the matchup against the rams, the forty-niners are very confident heading into this game. they've won 9 of their last 11 games, including an overtime win over the rams in la just 2 and a half weeks ago, they were down 17 zip at one point in that game but managed to battle back. the rams have not be in the 40 niners since 2018 losing the last 6 straight. why is it that the forty-niners seem to have the rams number? our kate rooney talk with the radio voice of the rams. jp long to get a different perspective on that question. take a listen. ok? i think they're really good te

but as kyle shanahan said today, those games have nothing to do with saturday's game. so to help us break down what to expect this time around. i chatted with mk burgess who covered the packers for wfrv tv in green bay. >> the packers evolved as a team says that 3 matchup with the forty-niners. >> i think we've seen from the packers in dc more cohesiveness. you saw that they were still trying to figure themselves out offensively, especially when you saw the egg that they laid in that week. one matchup against the saints than you saw them really get into that stride in week, 2 against the lions. and then it kind of really kind of set the tone for the season. i think when they had that last second win over a team with the forty-niners that has plagued them look at, you know, so far in the matt lafleur era. right? like getting blown out twice in 2019. you know, they beat them in 2020, but it's really not. it doesn't really count because you guys were so injured at that point in time. and so it was just very interesting to see how that team then it almost started that when
