let's start things off with mary lee to break down what we are seeing. >>> i am tracking this for you on high def doppler. we have flood advisories in effect for alameda, san mateo, contra costa, santa cruz as we are looking at heavy rain, minor to moderate flooding over low lying areas with the flood advisory in effect. on high def doppler, you see in yellow and orange, that is heavier rain across san jose through los gatos as well as over the czu burn scar area. they did have a flash flood warning in effect. it has expired but still tracking heavy rain there. as we look across brentwood, discovery bay, you see a strong cell pushing across the region. strong winds. i have been watching this for you. 32 miles per hour out of the south at sfo, 18 mile-per-hour winds in napa as well as for fairfield. wind advisories for san francisco, peninsula, coast, south bay, and east bay as well as solano under the wind advisory. heavy rain at times as we head through our afternoon with strong winds and chilly temperatures in the 50s. i will show you futurecast timing it out for you in a few minute

. >>> meteorologist mary lee joins us with a look at how much rain we got. >>> we did pick up a few inches of rain with the second storm system, showing that 24 hour or 36 hour rainfall amounts. over santa cruz mountain, more than three inches of rain, an inch and a half in berkeley and east bay. san francisco, about an inch. south bay, with rain shadowing about a quarter of an inch of rain. earlier this week we had that atmospheric river and some spots picking up a foot of rain. that did not affect our drought monitor that was just released, drought conditions this morning. not much has changed. we really need more storms to help us out of this drought. high def doppler, you see quiet conditions but a little bit snow still over sierra and tahoe area. let's show you a live look in tahoe in the sierra. you see the snow. we picked up several feet of snow earlier this week with the atmospheric river and several inches of snow with the second storm system. it's great to have that snow in the sierra. we will talk about when we will see our next storm system coming up in a few minutes. >>> a sec

let's get a check with mary lee. we got gloomy weather yesterday, wet all day. >> we did. we had drizzle, clouds, this weather system. we are still tracking some showers. things are wrapping up in some parts of the bay area. on high def doppler, things are moving out pretty quickly. we had that light rain and now we are looking at the wet start for parts of the east bay, peninsula, south bay. you see the wet start from union city, milpitas, tri valley, san jose, allen rock, willow glenn in san jose and through evergreen. looking at santa clara, you see the coast as well as the peninsula catching some light showers. as we go through our afternoon, we are going to see clearing. we are going to see sunshine and breezy conditions but cool temperatures, all of us in the 50s. through our afternoon, you see that quiet weather ahead. if you are heading out the door, you will want to at least wear that coat because we are looking at chilly temperatures. we'll talk more about that coming up. let's check with anne for a look at traffic. how are the roadways? >>> it is wet and it is w

let's begin with a check of weather, darren peck in for mary lee. finally, a dry one. >>> first in a long time. we have four more coming, probably even five. the thing about this morning is the temperatures are cooler than yesterday but only by about four or five degrees which places us in the low 40s just about everywhere. you see that on the current temperatures with the exception. hayward you are six degrees cooler. it's two degrees cooler in the city. there are mid level clouds now acting like a blanket but by late morning, those are gone. they will be replaced by mid to high level that will fill in again into the afternoon. it's a mixed bag. you will see blue sky but it won't be all day blue. we'll see clouds start to redevelop by afternoon. daytime highs will climb to the low 50s. again, very much like where we have been for the last few days minus the rain. i will see you with the complete forecast in a few minutes. >>> let's look at the roadways. we have some good news to report. they are clearing a crash west bound 80 near cutting boulevard
