dan thorn kron 4 news. thank you, dan. the alameda county coroner's office has identified 2 people killed in 2 separate crashes last week in pleasanton. >> a woman died thursday night after crashing into a light pole. it happened about 1030, on west lost. the seat is boulevard. just east of road. investigators identified the driver today as 23 year-old melanie more hot. police say that she was speeding and hit the center median which caused her car to flip onto its side and hit that light pole and then just before 6 friday morning, there was a crash involving 3 cars on southbound. 6 ad south of all costa boulevard. a 60 year-old john ryman of doubling died in that accident. investigators say ryman lost control of his vehicle after sideswiping a big break. his honda civic crossed all lanes of traffic and crashed into the center dividing wall where it was hit by a pickup truck. investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role here. >> more national news. now prosecutors have rested their case against kyle rittenho

dan thorn kron 4 news. in the east bay. 3 people have been arrested in connection with the shooting of retired oakland police chief earn >> or see joyner. we have surveillance video may remember this from october 21st. it shows at the chevron gas station in west oakland joyner being approach here by several suspects who tried to rob him and that's when the shootout occurred. now joyner shot and killed one person there at the gas station. the others got away. but now we've learned that one person has been arrested in houston and 2 others arrested in sacramento. joyner was critically injured in that shootout. but he's now recovering. i 37 the time and it swear in the east bay oakland police chief ron armstrong continues to plead with the community to stop the violence. this as the police department now spread very thin trying to handle an uptick in crime that happened over the weekend during a 10 hour period on saturday. as a matter of fact, officers responded to more than 2 dozen incidences. they included an

i'm dan thorn. the halloween party was at the home of gilroy city council member rebecca, our monday us. police were called to her home early saturday morning after a fight broke out and at least one shot was fired when police arrived they found 4 people with gunshot wounds. one person later dying from their injuries. all of the victims are said to be between 1719 years old saturday afternoon. police arrested 19 year-old benjamin david calderon in connection with the shooting calderon has since been booked on a homicide charge. the victim is recovering tonight after a vicious knife attack. this happening in sacramento. police there saying that they arrested a man accused of injuring someone with a machete early this morning. investigators say the assault happened in the area h and 9th streets in downtown sacramento the suspect and the victim apparently know each other. there's no other details that have been released tonight. in texas. a shooting leaving one person dead and 9 others injured during a
