davidson is in michigan where they need help? >> sure, sure. i think most important thing to say about that meeting with the fda is it's going to happen. unfortunately did not happen with rendesivir. and molnupiravir and hopefully will dot same for the pfizer drug coming down the pipe. i can't say anything specifically about feelings for molnupiravir at this point but the public information available shows 50% effective, and in preventing persons that have mild to early covid infections who are not hospitalized to be able to not get worse, not to go in the hospital and not to die. so that's great, but a 50% decrease certainly is not what we need in this kind of situation. because once someone gets beyond that point, into the hospital, and in a situation where they need greater medical support, they will then actually have many more problems in terms of being able to provide. so it's a good, a good start and a good step in the right direction, but we need something better than that. that's very, very clear. >> doc, my understanding both of these

what we got is we got rid of 50% tariffs that were supposed to start on december 1 on bourbon, harley-davidson, levi, ridiculous tariffs that would cripple these industries but also we maintained the steel tariffs, so that our workers, the steel industry, are protected from dumping into our market cheap steel from china. so it's really a win-win also, jim, as you know, fuel prices are high. you know, they're sky high right now. fuel prices have gone up three, four times in the past year, which is continuing to wreak havoc in our supply chain. so by, you know, allowing 3.3 million tons of steel to come in from europe tariff free, consumers are going to see that. you're going to see lower steel prices, which, of course, goes into cars and trucks and washing machines anyway, all the way around it's a big win. >> let's talk about something else that your capturing that's i think really vital when i look at the semiconductor situation, i did a lot of work today on taiwan semi in preparation of talking, and literally 75% of our autos, 75%, that's what they have right now, totally captive. global fou

rob davidson has been gracious to be with us through this pandemic and help us understand what's happening where he is. he's an emergency room physician in west michigan and the executive director of the committee to protect public health. the headline i saw in "the detroit free press" this morning was that your state is the worst, that the hospitals are pushed to capacity, the number of covid patients climbed almost 50% in the last month. so bring us into your experience right now. what are you seeing at the hospital? >> listen, for us in west michigan, it's been three or four weeks like this. we've kind of led the state, unfortunately, in these grim statistics. our hospitals have been full. we've had at least two weeks where every shift i go in there's a quarter to half of the emergency department that i work in is filled with patients waiting for beds that don't exist. truly our icu capacity and entire system throughout the west side of the state is at about 140% of what its maximum would be. we've expanded capacity, you know, so we can take on all those patients, but it's, you know, wh
