"today in the bay" cheryl hurd shows us how the city is responding. >> reporter: there's a $17,500 reward for information that can help oakland police catch the person or persons who shot a private security guard in oakland. the shooting happened here at 14th and webster in front of prime 356. a crime reporter and guard were there to interview the store owners about a smash and grab involving some 30 people monday night that was captured on a surveillance camera. the owners came back to the store for a food give away when thieves arrived with guns blazing. >> somebody rolled up, said get down, he just started shooting at everybody. >> the security guard was hit by gunfire. >> he got shot for no reason. the dude didn't even take the camera. it was senseless. senseless attempt on multiple people's lives. >> reporter: the oakland's police department is asking for the public's help. >> we are asking if you were in the area, have a business or live nearby, check the surveillance footage, you may have captured the crime before, during or after it occurred. >> reporter: it is not the first time

this is a story that hits home for us, like our reporters on the street like cheryl hurd. what do we know? >> reporter: this story is too close to home, especially when myself, my photographer and a security guard were at that same location yesterday about 5:00. usually we don't cover stories affecting ourselves but this one we can't ignore. the shooting happened today about 12:30 at 14th and webster at the prime store. the security guard was there with the camera crew. that store was hit by about 30 people late monday night. you see the dramatic video. they rushed in, grabbing everything that they could. the news crew today was covering that same exact story, and they were covering a turkey give away set up by the owners of the store. now we got an interview with one of the owners, and another man who just happened to be there at the time of the shooting. >> god bless him and his family. hopefully he's going to pull through okay. but he got shot for no reason. the dude didn't even take the camera. it was senseless. senseless attempt on multiple people's lives. a woman was

nbc bay area's cheryl hurd joins us from antioch. >> reporter: it was a mistake that had to be addressed. more than a dozen kids receiving the wrong dose of the covid vaccine at a pop-up clinic at sutter health in antioch. pediatrician dr. jimmy hu, chair of sutter vaccine task force released a statement tonight saying, this weekend, 14 patients at our antioch pediatric vaccine clinic received vaccines with an incorrect amount of deluant. infectious disease expert dr. peter tim hong explains what that could mean. >> as vaccines get drawn on for kids, adults, et cetera, it's that you get it in a concentrated form, just like concentrated orange juice, for example. and then you dilute the concentrate, and then draw in the syringe the right amount. >> reporter: sutter health won't say if the kids were given too much or too little, but the statement says they immediately reviewed the processes to help make sure this doesn't happen again. dr. chin-hong further explains what can happen if you don't dilute the vaccine enough. >> you're going to get something that's more concentrated in the same
