ana? >> and there are other questions regarding whether you can mix and match booster shots. there is new research on this, right? what do we know, and how soon could we get some guidance on that? >> there is -- well, hopefully there will be guidance soon because if moderna gets permission to do boosters and there's discussion tomorrow about johnson & johnson boosters, that's a lot of people so there will be a lot of discussion about mixing and matching. here's what happened with this study. this was a study done by the national institutes of health. it was a relatively small study just over 450 people. what they found is that folks who originally got johnson & johnson, they actually got a better response if they had a pfizer or moderna booster. in other words, getting johnson & johnson first and then a booster with pfizer or moderna seemed to be better than getting johnson & johnson both times. folks who got pfizer or moderna the first time around, it seems that they did well with any boo

>> ana, so the d.a. made clear that the charge that's potentially in play here is called involuntary manslaughter. we heard the d.a. use the phrase criminal negligence several times. i think the d.a. said something else really interesting. she said this is a complex case and every detail is going to matter, because it's important to note there is no book on this kind of scenario. it doesn't happen that often in contrast to something like a car accident where you might be looking at an involuntary manslaughter charge. there is a standard checklist. was the person drunk? was the person speeding? was the person texting? this is an on-set shooting with what appeared to be apparently a live firearm. there is no standard case on this. so how does the prosecutor make that decision? i think there is a misconception that you plug it in and a m message comes out that says charge or don't charge. they will sit down and say, what do we think? is this criminally excusable? is this something we can charge? is this som

>> i think it's going to be complicated, ana. we know in the high-profile cases it's very difficult to find people who haven't heard about the case, haven't read about the case, haven't seen the extensive media, but this case is more complicated than the typical high-profile case because not only do we have the disturbing video of the shooting of ahmaud arbery, we also have the prosecution of the original district attorney. we have that district attorney who played knavetism towards one of the defendants who are actually worked, gregory mcmichael, who had actually worked in her office. that delayed the actual indictment of these three defendants, and it wasn't, as you said in the opening until there was a huge public outcry and the release of that videotape that we actually saw any kind of action taken with respect to those defendants, so i think all of those issues are going to come into play as both sides try to pick impartial jurors. >> you point out the prosecution has changed hands multiple times. i think they are on the fou

ana? >> i'm sure so many parents are grateful to hear that the active shooting situation has abated. however, there is still this threat, potentially, out there because no one is in custody yet. josh campbell, you're with us. you're a former fbi agent. tell us about the manhunt that's happening right now. how are police trying to track him down? >> there are a couple unusual aspects of this shooting, ana, that we don't typically see. when these happen we sometimes wait minutes, hours, sometimes days, to determine why someone opened fire. here authorities saying this appears to have followed a fight. and the reason why that's important is because it does not appear, at least from the information we have right now, that this person came to the school with the focus on ending possible life. it appears there was some kind of altercation. we've seen hundreds of law enforcement officers from different agencies descend on that school. they are now being focused on trying to actually catch this fu

ana, where do things stand right now in efforts to put the reconciliation bill together? >> yeah, they're pretty stalled right now. i think there's been frustration in the white house for how slowly the progress is being made. both the progressives and the moderates are really entrenched in terms of where their positions are. we don't see a lot of movement. of course, a lot of lawmakers are back home right now. so those kind of conversations continue, but this deadline for october 31st, which is what speaker nancy pelosi has said, that she wants, i think is very unlikely to happen at this point, because we don't even have a top line number, much less some of the actual details and the meat of what's going to be in that package. >> eugene, is there anything that the president and his top advisers can do to try to achieve this goal of moving us forward? >> they can keep engaging, which is what they continue to do anytime we ask them about this. one of the things i think is making this really hard on the pr level, from a communication aspect, is they aren't being very forthc
