that is new jersey. you know, they have an attitude that they sort of took it on the chin during the trump administration. in the 2017 republican tax bill, a big offset was getting rid of the state and local income tax deduction which was used disproportionately in new jersey, and that was scaled back immensely. a lot of middle-class households saw their tax bills go up because of that, in a bill that was really supposed to cut taxes across the board. on infrastructure, the trump administration held up one of the biggest infrastructure projects in the country, the gateway tunnel, between new york and new jersey. thousands and thousands of commuters use it daily, really the entire eastern seaboard. that is not only moving again under the, but now new jersey democrats see this as a way to make things right, but there is an issue. this is very expensive, hundreds of billions of dollars. there are ways to do it partially, but they want the whole enchilada, and it is expensive. they have another problem, whic

the new jersey and rhode island regiments are not represented. the number of blacks serving in new jersey's four continental regiments in 1778 was only ten. rhode island had just reconstituted one of its regiments, filling it with african-american and indian and private soldiers, mostly former slaves and also 55 veterans. in august 1778 the first rhode island contained 188 black privates adding those men would bring the total of african-american soldiers that month to 953. so using those numbers we can -- we can figure out the percentages per brigade. the six brigades reporting the highest total of black soldiers in august 1778. three from new england and three from southern states. by comparison the middle states of new jersey and pennsylvania had very few black soldiers. one pennsylvania brigade had only one black soldier, actually i think two. the other pennsylvania brigade had none at all. and as you can see these brigade percentages are all higher than the 15 brigade proforces of 16.3%, poresons connecticut with 9.3% and mulesberg, virginia
