east bay shoreline, mid 70s. they'll climb to the upper 80s for valleys of marin, 90 santa rosa, 103 in ukiah, 102 in clear lake. across the seven-day forecast for san francisco, oakland, san jose, there is a cooling trend on here. since we didn't warm up a whole lot in either of the locations, there is not a dramatic cool down. we'll go from mid 80s in san jose to around 80 for the weekend. here is where the big change happens. inland valleys of east bay where we'll be 97, we will cool numbers to 90 for daytime high by the early part of the weekend. similar story for north bay, we'll get you back down to average. how does the drive look? >>> good morning. let's look at the drive into the altamont pass because that's our busiest spot. we see brake lights already building. ride west bound from 205 out of tracy near mount house, 580 near north flynn, that's our slowest spot. speeds are dipping down to about 22 miles per hour. your travel time, 37 minutes. that's what you will need 205 towards 680. we know that incr

east bay shoreline all lit up already. as you can see, the fog is pretty much lifted from this perspective. then the golden gate bridge. it's usually the last along the bunch in order to get clear about some morning drizzle with all of this. and again, that some nice relief and that will be insulating to some degree even this afternoon. san francisco the coast in a little bit along the east bay shoreline which the map reflects here excessive heat warning going on. that's the areas in red. you see the oranges or advisory and that does include the santa clara valley. sometimes you folks are not involved in these. but you're in this one and also to the santa cruz mountains, excessive heat warning. that is that will be until 11:00pm on sundays for the day to get through all of this as well. so with the overnight recovery, if you will. we've got the 50's going on for much of the perimeter of the bay. you can see the greens making their way across the delta so that marine layer pushed its way on east a little bit spilled into th

that is katie in the east bay and she felt the earthquake. we surprised to find out the epicenter was in tahoe? >> reporter: it is pretty surprising only because of the distance that the shaking actually traveled for us to be able to feel it here especially so strongly in the east bay. as you remember, we just had another earthquake about a week or so ago. when i first started feeling the shaking and my first thought was is this the big one and i think for so many people who live here in california, you start to feel those initial rumbles, and your heart starts racing because you just don't know how big is this going to get in terms of intensity and how long will it last and how much damage is there going to be. based on what i felt here in the tri-valley area, it does not seem like this level of shaking was enough to cause any of the widespread damage that we have seen in other situations and other earthquakes. again, i think a lot of people right now are going through their homes and checking everything out and going to their businesses try

there's the east bay shoteline. and even though we do have fog, at least you can make out the lighting along the east bay shoreline. so it's not that thick yet. quite a bit of a glaze, though happening at the golden gate bridge to get things off to the start. we do like this onshore wind providing this fog because that keeps temperatures down keeps the monsoon at if you know when the pun, here's the mix out of the fog by later on today at the coast. again, we might be dealing with some of those fog clouds lingering into the afternoon, although i think we'll see a little bit more sun than we did earlier this week fog returns again for tomorrow morning. and again, the typical drill. now the thunder shower action remain to the south. it looks like in southern california. a this is expected bubble up. however, as we get into

low 80s for east san jose. heading over towards the east bay, we're looking at weather like yesterday. oakland today looking at a high of 70 degrees. cool, foggy and drizzly near the coast and half moon bay, and a little more sunshine and palo alto, and the high reaching 75. san francisco mostly in the mid-60s for today and a brisk wind and that will keep it cool from santa rosa on southward and doesn't make it over towards ukiah and clear lake, so still in the mid-90s there. and our weather shows we have a surge of monsoonal moisture, and most of the region getting a boost in the heat as well as humidity and bringing in some of the thunderstorms further off towards the east. we'll watch for a chance of more thunderstorms firing up today and tomorrow. if you are traveling there, that's what we are looking at, that potential of not only thunderstorms but lightning. and in the mid-80s for a lot of our inland spots. the coast stays in the 60s, and we keep a wide range of temperatures as we settle into the weather

that's the view down 880 looking at the east bay. mid level clouds, stratus has filled in much of the bay. outside immediate bay, it's relatively clear sky. here is the big picture. you see the complex of thunderstorms. let's put it in futurecast and i will show you how this will play out. we'll take storms and slowly widen our view and watch a redevelopment right there. that gets us into the afternoon today. the complex of thunderstorms has shifted north. it centered in central and southern sierra for the most part today. as we get into the afternoon today and more importantly tomorrow morning, now the thunderstorms working through engh to home, there is our 20% chance some storms develop. a closer look just at us. we will look at tonight into tomorrow. you can see a wider spread area here where you get a decent chance for maybe an isolated thunderstorm or two for tuesday. granted it's only a 20% chance. it's not super high. that's high enough considering how dry the landscape is. we've got to watch it closely. this looks more impre

the east bay as well. when we take a look at the east bay down 880 here, marine layers in the short average, coming into the immediate bay. we're waking up to the gray if you're right in the immediate bay or up around there. we have seen the clouds get in there. the temperatures in the mid to upper 50s. right now, call 50s for santa rosa, under clear sky. looking at the clouds here, here they are. there they go. by the time we get to late morning, they're already back. there to the coast. the sun for everybody and daytime highs look something like this. low to mid 80s for most of the south bay communities. we will top out at 80 for the daytime high today for redwood city. we'll go to 71 in hayward. numbers for the far inland east bay will be right around 90. a little warmer than yesterday. east bay shoreline is upper 60s. we're low 70s and mid 80s as we get into marin. mid 80s in sonoma and low to mid 90s today in lake and mendocino county. let's talk about this fire weather concern for the bay area. sunda
