mr. roberts: it is fascinating. we you look back, it is hard to imagine you could somehow plan a demonstration and expect people to show up and they do show up. as you said there is no internet. there were no cell phones. basically, you are using analog tactics like the u.s. mail back and forth. occasional phone calls. and the bulletin boards, the internet at the time, were actual physical bulletin boards that existed on college campuses and bookstores and coffee shops around the country. and that is where people found each other and got information about this. so first, there was this effort to disseminate the idea, and then lenny, david dillinger, along with others who were part of the chicago seven descendant, started making rounds at the college campuses. they went to dozens and dozens beginning in the fall of 1970 all the way up and till the spring of 1971 making speeches, talking to people, trying to explain the plan and get people excited about what was happening . but all the time you were doing this, do not
