capitol police. the d.c. police chief robert con te indicated there appeared to be no nexus to terrorism but it shows the vulnerabilities of the capitol even after 1/6 and the reason i talk about that important access point to the capitol plaza where you have to have a badge to get into the capitol or get that far in after 1/6 is that roadway, constitution avenue was closed off as recently as two weeks ago because they erected a broader security perimeter around the capitol after 1/6 that went out several blocks and this is where they had another layer of fencing, constantina wire on top that fence and even this fence as well and there was a lot of debate about whether or not they should reopen constitution and independence avenues. the fact if that gate, excuse me , if that exterior fencing, the second layer, had been up, this incident probably would not have happened or at least not happened right here because you just take regular civilian traffic coming up or down capitol hill, you can turn right in there
