this is nbc bay area news tonight. happy monday. i'm raj mathai. we're going a little hollywood tonight, but it's actually a very sensitive topic in san francisco. actor danny glover, you remember him? san francisco native with the proposal about reparations. how to pay back the black community in the city. but let's start with some developing news on this monday night. a mix-up with covid vaccines, and it involves kids. right now if you're a parent, you're thinking oh, my gosh, is this really happening? it did happen over the weekend in antioch at a vaccine clinic for kids. the clinic was put on by sutter health. a spokesperson says 14 children were affected. sutter says it contacted the parents and gave them the cdc guidance for this situation. that includes that the patients may experience more sore arm soreness, fatigue, headaches, or fever. our covid expert says really, the parents in this situation shouldn't be overly concerned. >> so what happens as vaccines get drawn on for adults, kids, et cetera, is that you get it in a concentrated form.

this is nbc bay area news tonight. i'm raj mathai. we start with breaking news on the golden gate bridge. this is a store we've been covering for about three hours now, but within the past 45 minutes, major developments. a crash at the scene of this protest injured two chp officers and three golden gate bridge personnel. let's show you what's happening. our sky ranger is live overhead right now. the crowd of about 300 to 400 people has disbursed. you're looking at the san francisco side of the golden gate bridge heading into marin county. within the past hour, this is what we were seeing, 300 to 400 people not necessarily on the lanes of traffic but right beside it. and holding them back on the perimeter are several cph officers and other bridge personnel. traffic is and was backed up for miles because there was only one, maybe two lanes that were going through. and keep in mind, that was during the 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. hour. and then we saw this. we're going to loop this video again. you see that car crash? so close to all those p

in berkeley, nbc bay area news. >>> a bizarre attack in san francisco. a woman says someone shot her in the eye with a paint ball. it happened in the sunset district last week. zoe and her boyfriend were wait fog a ride on the corner of sunset and noriega after working at outside lands. that's when a car drove by and someone shot a paint ball at them. you see the photos of her injuries. she was hit three time. once in the eye. her boyfriend hit six times. >> it hurt very badly. i finally got to see night mirror and i calmed down a little bit. we were going to the hospital. >> pretty traumatizing. the investigators say the attack was unprovoked. >> new at 11:00, a reversal for san francisco in the case of an unarmed man shot as he ran from police. the city has agreed to pay 2.5 million to settle the deadly shooting in 2017. he was shot as he ran away from a stolen van. san francisco police said they thought he was reaching for a gun. they said the culture won't change unless they face charges. >> in this particular case, this young man ought to be prosecu

nbc bay area political analyst larry gerston joins us now. hi, larry. good morning, good to see you. the bill has been discussed for months by us, by everybody, by the house. is it all the back and forth that's taken it so long? or what is it? >> it sure seems like it's been forever. there's no question about that. i think there are two three things we want to think about. we know that republicans in the house have been dead set against the bill. a very diverse democratic caucus. that's been tough for pelosi. there are some touchy areas with respect to this large almost 2 trillion dollar bill. things like paid family leave, childcare payments for the next year or so, money for climate change, various programs. and in some of these cases, progressives aren't happy that the money isn't enough. and the third point is the bill is not fully paid for according to the congressional budget office. it's anywhere between 160 billion and $360 billion, short from paying for itself. so when you put all of these things together and, yeah, it's still touchy as far as
