ginger conejero saab, nbc bay area news. >>> okay. be careful out there. our climate in crisis coverage continues. california's snow pack in the sierra nevada could be gone in 25 years. that's what a new study at the lawrence-berkeley national lab shows. the snow in the mountains will be replaced by rain. we have already seen a change in recent decades as the snow season has been shortened by about a month. at the same time, snow levels have moved up by 1,200 feet. no snow pack means california would be without spring and summer melt-off that fills rivers and streams. the state relies heavily on that for its water supply. jeff has been talking about this for a while now in our extensive coverage. >> yeah. and that really goes along with some new research we're seeing that we would get overall fewer storms. but when we do have those storms happening, they'd be those stronger atmospheric rivers that tend to be warmer. so hence, less snow pack. but the good news we want to remind you is new research came out this year and said if we all do our part, we contri

this is nbc bay area news tonight. happy monday. i'm raj mathai. we're going a little hollywood tonight, but it's actually a very sensitive topic in san francisco. actor danny glover, you remember him? san francisco native with the proposal about reparations. how to pay back the black community in the city. but let's start with some developing news on this monday night. a mix-up with covid vaccines, and it involves kids. right now if you're a parent, you're thinking oh, my gosh, is this really happening? it did happen over the weekend in antioch at a vaccine clinic for kids. the clinic was put on by sutter health. a spokesperson says 14 children were affected. sutter says it contacted the parents and gave them the cdc guidance for this situation. that includes that the patients may experience more sore arm soreness, fatigue, headaches, or fever. our covid expert says really, the parents in this situation shouldn't be overly concerned. >> so what happens as vaccines get drawn on for adults, kids, et cetera, is that you get it in a concentrated form.

this is nbc bay area news tonight. i'm raj mathai. we start with breaking news on the golden gate bridge. this is a store we've been covering for about three hours now, but within the past 45 minutes, major developments. a crash at the scene of this protest injured two chp officers and three golden gate bridge personnel. let's show you what's happening. our sky ranger is live overhead right now. the crowd of about 300 to 400 people has disbursed. you're looking at the san francisco side of the golden gate bridge heading into marin county. within the past hour, this is what we were seeing, 300 to 400 people not necessarily on the lanes of traffic but right beside it. and holding them back on the perimeter are several cph officers and other bridge personnel. traffic is and was backed up for miles because there was only one, maybe two lanes that were going through. and keep in mind, that was during the 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. hour. and then we saw this. we're going to loop this video again. you see that car crash? so close to all those p
