all right, greg liggins in our newsroom tonight, greg, thank you. new information from the fire lines of the massive dixie fire that wildfire has prompted new mandatory evacuation orders in remote areas of promos and lasting counties. as of about noon today, the dixie fire is about 721,000 acres. it is 37% contained now since it started five weeks ago. the fire has destroyed more than 1000 structures, 650 of them homes. some positive news tonight in lake county, where the cash fire has been burning for the past four days, the lake county fire protection district says the cash fire burned 83 acres. it is now 100% contained. the fire also destroyed more than 135 homes and buildings and more than 150 vehicles. some people who were evacuated are being allowed to return to their homes tonight, and officials say all evacuation orders will be lifted tomorrow. crews will be in the area tonight, mopping up. and making sure that area is safe for residents to return. investigators are still working to confirm exactly how the fire started, and cal fire says rig
