if there is action from the arizona state senate from this issue has it not not happened yet. 47,000 mail in ballots received never mailed that appears to be based on data that does not show the total mail-in vote and does not reflect the total early vote either. something acknowledged by the third party audit itself. audited to the roll after the election and still voted. again maricopa county officials say provisional votes go through a rigorous are verification process to ensure validity. they say only eligible voters added to the rolls, again, they are in charge of that election. also the trump claim that all access logs to the voting machines were wiped was debunked back in may by the republican chairman of the county board of supervisors. former president trump claims the election server was hacked during the election. maricopa county says its election server is not connected to the internet and independent auditors found no evidence of a breach there. as we reported last week, there have been a total of 182 potential fraud cases referred to investigators in arizona. only four

an election audit in maricopa county in arizona is happening. it's also turning up the shocking results. according to the arizona senate president, "companies hired by the legislature to review the election results came up with a different number of ballots then maricopa county officials." tonight we don't know the exact discrepancy, as the audit is now ongoing. but this has to be concerning ag development for everybody that wants integrity and elections. integrity of our elections, confidence in election results, it is paramount to the survival of our great republic. i often cite several measures that all states should adopt. voter identification, signature verification, chain of custody integrity, voter rolls being updated for every election, and most states have statutory language that partisan observers be allowed to watch of the vote count, all political sides, they should watch the count from start to finish. audits and investigations also play an important role, while audits can be painful and they can be expensive and time-consuming, and

this has to do with voting restrictions in arizona. there is a decision and i believe we have shannon bream standing by to help explain to us what just happened, shannon. >> dana, there were a couple of provisions passed by arizona as a state law regarding their elections. one of them is this out of precinct idea if you show up and cast your ballot at a precinct that is not the correct one you were assigned to you can cast a provisional ballot but if it wasn't the right precinct they'll throw out the ballot all together. the second one was ballot harvesting whether third parties can bring in the votes. in a split decision as you would expect the court has upheld both of those provisions of arizona state law saying they don't violate the voting rights act. the lengthy opinion. we'll look back through it. for now they say both of those things don't violate section 2 of the voting rights act. that's big. right now we have the department of justice suing georgia over its law, over its state elections law. we'll dig through this and see if

arizona's is among a whole new sweep of laws that in fact, it's not a matter of discrimination as she is caricaturing it, but they do make it harder for reasons of their lives for minority voters, disproportionately. the big point here, is that section two was available for just this before today. it really has been, got it would be too strong a word, but it no longer is the tool it was. it sort of an explanation point on a term that moved to the law in many directions. one more thing about this case, the argument across the country's republican legislature saying, we have such voter fraud, and we really have to do these laws for that reason. that's proven to be kind of a phantom argument, but the court took it appear. they said that's a very important reason, and we are going to endorse it, and thought of course it is poorly a lot of laws out there. >> shannon: okay, harry mentions the slew of states that are doing this kind of thing, the doj announced last week it's going to sue georgia over its law in reaction to this ruling today said, the department remains strongly committed to
