edward lawrence broke the story. he is in washington with the latest. edward. reporter: one of the swing votes in all of this, mentioned senator joe manchin says democrats do not have the votes to pass the american rescue plan. the issue rests solely with the corporate tax rate. the rate going up to 28% in the plan. important to hear the senator's words or hear what he is saying to a radio station in west virginia. he is saying six or seven democrats who he feels agree with him, will put america at a lack of competitiveness. he says we cannot throw caution to the wind with raising it to 28%. the senator says that he would support a 25% corporate tax rate. manchin and, hinted that the bill could be broken up into three different parts, adding that the final bill will not look like what is looks like today on paper. this comes as the biden administration is starting those conversations with lawmakers on capitol hill about raising the corporate tax rate to pay for the american jobs plan. treasury secretary janet yellen is making that outreach. now we have a glimps

let's bring in edward lawrence. break it down for us if you could. >> he saw the big number beating estimates 916,000 jobs added back to the economy with the unemployment rate dropping. in the last time the unemployment rate was 6% was in march, 2020 before the pandemic and within that topline number just look at some of the sectors rebound, leisure and hospitality added 280,000 jobs, about two thirds of those jobs in food and drinking the services, huge number, restaurants are reopening and drinking places reopening. construction added 110,000 jobs back to the economy in the bureau of labor statistics say statistically because of the winter storms in february that slowed construction hiring and it's rebounded this month in march as a retail added 22500 jobs, transportation bringing back 47500 jobs, revision for january and february were revised up adding 166,000 jobs in the revision, so this shows the economy started recovering as vaccines rolled out and as a states started to open up. ashley: edward, thank you. le
