" >>> it's a specific kind of terror, that only seems to, constantly, haunt the united states. mass shootings. the most recent took place, thursday night, at a fedex-ground facility in indianapolis, indiana. eight people lost their lives. that horrific news is compounded by the number of similar incidents, in recent weeks. in fact, it's the 45th-mass shooting in the u.s., since the atlanta-area spa killings, on march 16th. and some cities have had more than one. now, cnn defines a mass shooting as one, in which at least four people are hurt or killed by gunfire, not including the gunman. officials say they won't reveal the identities of the people who are wounded in that shooting friday but they have released the names of those who lost their lives. they are 32-year-old matthew r. alexander. 19-year-old samaria blackwell. 66-year-old amarjeet johal. 68-year-old jaswinder singh. 48-year-old amarjit sekhon. 19-

do you think that they made the right decision to move the all-star game and draft out of atlanta, georgia? >> i think what's very important here, abby, is it's not just the issue in georgia, in fact there are proposals in 43 states. but with respect to major league baseball taking the action to move the all-star game, it really is a direct consequence of the action taken by the georgia legislature to restrict voting. i want to be clear that our group does not favor boycotts. what we are asking as you stated is that corporations publicly oppose this type of legislation that restricts voting. i think it's unfortunate, but i can understand the major league baseball's move. but we certainly wish it did not have to happen. but what we need to focus on in america is the fundamental right to vote. we cannot compromise on that right. >> your open letter did spark more business leaders to speak out not just against the law in georgia but against, as you said, voting bills considered in other places like texas. you know, there's just an extraordinary characteristic of the letter. it's more than 70

a month ago, we were watching the horrible images come in from two-mass shootings in and around atlanta. seems a long time ago, doesn't it? the sad fact is, though, that mass shootings have become so common, it may, soon, be hard for one not to fall on the anniversary of another. this is a map of mass shootings in just the last month, which we're defining as four or more people shot, wounded, or killed, excluding the gunman. one other thing to note. there is only room on the map to show a little less than half. the full count, again, over just a single month since the atlanta shootings is 45 and the map is profound as it might be, doesn't do justice to the story. doesn't capture the horror. it doesn't capture the wounds, and the deaths of so many americans. the map doesn't tell the story of the five people, who were shot and wounded on march 17th in stockton, california. or the four shot in oregon, a day later. in houston, on the 20th, five shot at a nightclub. that same day in dallas, eight people shot and one killed in philadelphia. that night someone opened fire at a party, kill one
