crow legislation, around various places you talked about, the idea of there being a boycott against atlanta, against georgia in general, because of its involvement in the new laws -- the jim crow laws. then you suggested we do minute, the boycott is going to hurt the people that are not possible for this issue. so one of the things you talked about was shaming. and i'm very interested in the idea of shaming, because that does imply a kind of authority that people might call on or might respond to if there is in fact a truth decay going on. jennifer: what a great question. i think there are a few things happening. first of all, just on the minor point of a boycott, unfortunately, we have so many voter suppression activities in over 40 states now that you can't boycott all of them, there'd be no place to go so there's some practical problems when a problem gets to be of that magnitude. i think when you look at the larger picture, there are instances in which an agreed upon system of rules of morality and a right and wrong of object reality still has a little bit of a foothill. you're not goin

it's going to be denver, not atlanta? >> that's what the reports are right now coming out of local media at this point, jim. look, politicians out of colorado seem to be all but confirming that. cnn has not independently confirmed the move but we're told that the expectation is that an announcement will come today. according to media in colorado, that announcement will be that they are moving the major league baseball all-star game this summer from atlanta to denver. and the reasons are obviously beyond the high altitude at-bats we'll be seeing there. colorado governor jared polis issued a statement saying, like so many coloradans, i'm excited and hopeful that major league baseball makes the best decision and formally chooses to play the 2021 all-star game in denver. it would be good for baseball and good for colorado. when this announcement started leaking last night, we did see some -- to be fair -- intellectually dishonest comparisons of georgia voting legislation that just passed and the current laws in colorado. now,

one, this is not a new dynamic in atlanta. atlanta is the home of the late hank aaron who we lost in january who if this track record is any indication would have had something to say about this voting law and it's not only the process it went through in the legislature but also the passage. he would have spoken out against that. so baseball is the sport where jackie robinson broke the color barrier. baseball is proud of that. atlanta is proud of being the city too busy to hate and there is a real question here as to whether or not the city is going to live up to that moniker now. companies like delta and coca-cola have long been part of what has made -- given atlanta that reputation, that made atlanta and georgia a place that's been able to point to southern neighbors and say we are not south carolina, we are not alabama. we are not mississippi. and now i think the confluence of atlanta and baseball given their kind of -- what they hold -- both of them holding themselves out to be markers of racial progress that confluence ha

atlanta is also coke's hometown. the beverage company isn't alone in its displeasure with the law, more than a hundred companies are speaking out against restricting voter access to the polls. cnn's matt egan has more. >> reporter: ceos are speaking out ton republican efforts to restrict voting. the leaders of more than a hundred companies including target and uber issued a statement on friday, vowing to oppose legislation that would deny eligible voters the right to cast ballots. the ceos say that voting should be safe and accessible to all voters, and that a strong democracy is good for business. texas based american airlines says it strongly opposes a texas bill that would place new restrictions on voting. all this comes after some atlanta-based companies base boycott threats over their initial response to georgia's controversial voting restriction law. both coca-cola and delta have since escalated their criticism of that legislation with delta ceo ed -- calling it unacceptable, wrong and based on a line. after th
