one, this is not a new dynamic in atlanta. atlanta is the home of the late hank aaron who we lost in january who if this track record is any indication would have had something to say about this voting law and it's not only the process it went through in the legislature but also the passage. he would have spoken out against that. so baseball is the sport where jackie robinson broke the color barrier. baseball is proud of that. atlanta is proud of being the city too busy to hate and there is a real question here as to whether or not the city is going to live up to that moniker now. companies like delta and coca-cola have long been part of what has made -- given atlanta that reputation, that made atlanta and georgia a place that's been able to point to southern neighbors and say we are not south carolina, we are not alabama. we are not mississippi. and now i think the confluence of atlanta and baseball given their kind of -- what they hold -- both of them holding themselves out to be markers of racial progress that confluence ha

why do non-white georgia voters have to wait in line so long, according to brian kemp who governs in atlanta where fulton county is, it's because democrats are not doing a good job. after shelby versus holder, georgia's voter rolls had grown by 2 million people, yet polling locations were cut statewide by nearly 10%. that is when brian kemp was secretary of state. growth has been fueled by younger non-white voters, especially in nine metro counties where four and five new voters were non-white. they have nearly half of the state's active voters. they have 38% of the polling places. the average number of voters packed into each polling location grew by nearly 40% after shelby v holder and this law cut the number of drop boxes even further so that more people have to vote in fewer places and the drop boxes are inside, so he two times both as secretary of state and governor are why people have to wait so long. he thinks they should just order takeout. your thoughts. >> brian kemp is a liar, and brian kemp tried to play a partisan card that you just dismantled for your audience tonight. you will

today the mlb announced it's moving the all star game from atlanta. where do you stand on this? do you welcome that move? >> listen, our actions have consequence. we've said for months now that voter suppression is bad for business. we said it directly to corporations and what you're seeing now is american voters who are voting with their dollars, that we've not seen a retraction, a retrenchment, we've seen republican legislatures across the country double down, that there are -- there's been a 43% increase in the number of anti-voting bills in legislatures across the country. i maintain that this is one of, if not the central organizing issue for the gop in this moment. the white lash that we are living through, that we are experiencing as a result of elevated voter participation has been severe, and it's been widespread, and that's why we're suing, and that's why we're calling on congress to pass hr 1 and hr 4 because fighting this piecemeal state by state by state is inefficient -- >> exactly. >> -- and we don't have time. there are municipal elections that are coming up this
