the manhunt for a murder suspect who escaped from deputies near atlanta's airport is over. jssan strover is accused of murdering someone in a bar in arizona. he was caught in georgia. deputies say he took off when they tried to return their rental car at the airport. authorities didn't say where strover was found overnight. >>> eight former fraternity members were charged in the alcohol related death of a bowling green state university student. 20-year-old stone foltz was attending a pledge party for phi cappa alpha where he was told to drink a full bottle of alcohol, prosecutors say. he passed out then died three days later. the eight suspects are facing charges that range from hazing to manslaughter. they're expected in court on may 19th. >>> the arrest made in lady gaga's dognapping case. the singer's dog-walker was shot during the encounter. now it appears gaga's $500,000 reward helped investigators. here's abc's andrea fujii. >> reporter: this morning, multiple arrests in connection with the dognapping of lady gaga's two french bulldogs and shooting of her dog-walker.

steve osunsami leading us off tonight with late news from the cdc in atlanta. >> reporter: a cdc advisory panel tonight says it needs more time and information to respond to the new concerns about the johnson & johnson vaccine. which means for now, americans should continue holding off using this brand of the covid vaccine. >> we do not have to arrive at a vote today or a recommendation today. if we need more time to think about this, we can reconvene later this week or this weekend >> reporter: a very small number of women who suffered blood clots after getting the shot caused health officials to put a hold on using the drug. health officials here worry that this potential adverse reaction looks a little too similar to what happened in europe with the astrazeneca vaccine. the astrazeneca vaccine is made using similar technology as the johnson & johnson, and in europe 19 people died. >> there are some rather strong similarities about this with regard to the time frame following vaccination. particularly importantly, the clinical syndrome of these clots together with low platelets. so ther

but first, abc's steve osunsami leads us off from the cdc in atlanta. >> reporter: it's the covid vaccine that promises good protection with a single dose. an important tool for public health officials around the world. but tonight, the fda is telling everyone to hold off using the johnson & johnson vaccine. a very small number of women have come down with an extremely rare blood clot after getting the shot. >> this is a really rare event. if you look at what we know so far, there have been six out of the 6.85 million doses, which is less than one in a million. >> reporter: all six women were between 18 and 48 years old. they got sick about 6 to 13 days after getting vaccinated. the clots formed in veins of the sinus and prevented blood from draining out of the brain. one woman died, another in critical condition. there's no evidence showing the vaccine caused the condition, and to be super clear, your chances of getting struck by lightning are nearly twice as high -- one in half a million. but the fda is warning anyone who got the johnson & johnson vaccine in the last three weeks to be o

steve osunsami is at the cdc in atlanta with that. welcome back, steve. >> reporter: good morning, to you, michael. in december then president-elect joe biden promised 100 million vaccines into the arms of 100 million americans within his first 100 days and this morning he has more than done that with 200 million shots in arms and still more than a week before his 100th day. the number of people, however, who are coming in to get the vaccine is slightly down this week across america. the government keeps daily averages and tells us that the average this week for vaccinations is about 3 million shots a day, but the week before that average was 3.35 million shots a day. the cdc says that this seven-day average started dropping a week ago and they underline that this drop in vaccinations started a day before the government announced the pause that was being put on the johnson & johnson vaccine because of rare blood clots that raised safety concerns. they say there are a number of possible reasons for this drop, but high among them, they
