it wasn't a fear or lies that motivated major league baseball to move the all-star game from atlanta. active mounting pressure to take a stand on behalf of voting rights sentiment that caught fire across corporate america, thanks to a spark from 72 black executives lead by the former head of american express and ken fraser, the ceo of merk. they called on companies to use all of their clout and resources to publicly oppose new laws that restrict the rights of black voters, including the lawed signed in georgia last week. their efforts were endorsed by nearly 200 executives from companies like microsoft, target, twitter, and uber. they signed a joint statement condemning the republican-led efforts to restrict voting say, quote, "if our government is going to work for all of us, each of us must have equal freedom to vote." joining me now is darren walker, president of the ford foundation who is among the black executives who signed a full page letter that appeared in the "new york times" calling on corporations to take a stand. thank you very much for coming back to the sunday show. >>
