[applause] >> thank you, madam mayor and thank you for your leadership on so many issues around parks and otherwise and your commitment to western addition. i want to say, and i say this a lot. in an era where government is criticized so much and so many challenges in doing basic things, san francisco rec and park department has done an extraordinary job managing this massive park system. san franciscans don't fully appreciate how unique this park system is. it is so big and varied with with so many park props. renovating every rec center, park, tennis court because of the dennosity of voters and -- generosity of the voters. it is exciting. it is a bright spot especially during a difficult few years. hear

chief scott, thank you for creating space in your department and innovation and trying new ideas and it's been an honor and pleasure working with your team. eric street from enterprise has been an incredible partner and i also want to thank all of the community organizations and business leaders throughout the city who also made commitments to fund this reward program so that we can finally make a serious dent in this vexing auto burglary issue. you know, i first started working on this problem when i had to chase a stolen van all over the city and i was shocked to discover that this is just a small number of people that are responsible for most of the auto burglaries that we see in the city. it is sensing rings and their business model is they pay people to break into cars and steal from businesses and then they sell these goods overseas and online. the last major ring we busted in the bay area had $8 million of stolen goods in multiple warehouses, so this is a big business and there's folks making a lot of money. now, i appreciate what the mayor said about focusing on what's import

my name is mark and i'm with scott architecture.with this slide looking overall wehad serious challenges on-site and various limitations . we wanted to integrate into the neighborhood and community while maximizing family size homes and ensuring appropriate open space which exceeds the requirements in addition to the 17,000 square feet of publicly accessible open space as said by eric. we wanted to develop a sign design that is specific and in deference to the history of the site . that starts with site circulation. the port left in the garden district has an annual event which is a tour of various private and public gardens in the neighborhood and we thought what better way to organize the building through by a series of connected breeze ways that could be open and closed at the homeowners discretion passing through the various private courtyards and culminating in a central spine are what we called a muse that served as an amenity and circulation and also follows the same path of the steam pipe system that has previously been used to distribute light tothe greenhouse. next slide please
