that supports my opening remarks in which i suggested that there will be a resiliency for the apple, microsoft, facebook, alphabet-type of mega-cap equity names. they are delivering double-digit revenue growth they are conducting their business with strong, operating leverage and margins and they're generating significant free cash flow so i would agree with that and that's where this kind of differentiation sets itself into place for technology, and i also think it kind of plays a little bit back towards what kathy was speaking about this morning, if you look forward over a five to ten-year period i don't think many of us would be surprised if i said kathy would enjoy a positive annualized return the question becomes is it a single-digit return or a double-digit annualized return in the here and now the problem that kathy has is that her strategy, unfortunately, is so highly correlated to whether deflation takes hold, inflation takes hold and the position of interest rates and that's a difficult position to be in right now. see i kind of fall back upon when you're in the environment and when

you may look at alphabet, amazon, microsofts and the like. we have used some structures consistently on the show recently because of implied volatility i am talking about call spread/risk reversal i think it's a good name to use in this as well. why not just go ahead and buy the upside call spread in this name, if we are going to buy an upside call spread, what has to happen is the stock has to go above the call strike by at least the amount of money you pay. before you see profits, you will see losses at any number below that if you sell a downside put, particularly if you can get it to pay for all or the premium of the call spread, essentially you will see profits if it rises or not see losses unless it falls below that put strike. i think i was looking at the 3.80, 4.50, if you just bought that call spread, about a 31% probability of profit out to february if instead you sold the downside put, you could put that trade on for just about even. that downside put is nearly 13% lower than the current stock price. so for one thing you will see p

it's microsoft it's apple and the other stocks like that, what do you make of that >> there are two parts to what i said one is the comparison to intel and ibm and i don't see the comparison there i see very long term business model problems like ibm and intel that i just don't see with cisco. i see a temporary supply chain issue with cisco, but you raise a very good point. when you compare this to amd or nvidia, obviously, it looks terrible i would submit to you that just about any stock in the world would look terrible when you compare it to nvidia and that's definitely not the metric that i would use. i have a portfolio of stocks and i have high-flying shoot the lights out stocks. qualcomm, for instance is one, but there are others that i'm looking to be my steady eddie returners. it has performed, including its dividend, just above its s&p 500. it's had some good years and bad years. as long as that demand is intact which i believe it is and there is a short-term supply chain issue which i believe it is, then it would continue to be a slight outperformance of the s&p 500. i cannot com
