bill cassidy joins us from baton rouge. i understand you did a flyover of some of the hard-hit areas of the state. what did you say that may not necessarily translator? >> we flew over a place called la plaz, if yu go towards baton roe, for those who have done it, it is the first area after you go past lake pontchartain. it was just complete flooding of the whole community. gas stations are -- you don't see the ground, you just see water. we continued over to homa, lots of wind damage. the less expensive the housing, the more damage. so trailer parks, they were just scattered over the neighborhoods. and nicer neighborhoods as well. they either had water up to their doorsteps or were completed flooded, as well as some wind damage to some structures that were used in port puchan, which go to the riggs and the outer shelves. even going to the new orleans, there weren't any lights. and north of lake pontchartain, to the florida parishes, there was flooding that was all through those parishes. not every place, but certainly arou

who are stepping up on this issue, like mike gallagher whose a congressman, and a veteran senator, cassidy, mcallen ski, who are joining with some democratic senators to focus on this issue and making sure the issue gets women in leadership roles in afghanistan special access back here. those are really good efforts, i'm glad they are bipartisan, i think they should be more bipartisan and they likely will. but the hyperbolic language from the minority leader is used every day, for every issue, is actually really appropriate here. there is a real sense of shock among people in his own party that joe biden with all his experience, and all his competence, and all his reference for the sacrifice that people like his son have made in afghanistan, and all the years we have invested there, that he would not have had a better, more prepared thought through plan. that these reports coming out about the intelligence that they did have are making the administration look like they are dishonest, or incompetent. that they did not have a good enough planned to get these people out before that if close t

second round of negotiations the president was involved n it started a couple months ago with bill cassidy in a phone call. he said i want $600 billion of new spending on infrastructure. 19 republicans joined all 50 democrats. this is just vet first step. and now it gets even more complicated. because what is also happening in the senate as we speak is the senate is starting this process on this $3.5 trillion human infrastructure bill. and speaker pelosi said she does not want this bipartisan traditional infrastructure bill until the senate completes all of its work on this $3.5 trillion process and that is going to take weeks if not months, ayman. so the president might not see this bipartisan bill on his desk until late september, maybe even october at the earliest. we still have a lot of steps to go that involve different factions among house democrats who want different things with this $3.5 trillion bill. so it's very complicated moving forward. >> yeah. so it raises the questions -- this has been kind of billed as the hard infrastructure. there is, of course, the house democrats who
