as promised, joining us now, courtney kube. thank you for joining us this morning. we heard from the president yesterday and he said he doesn't think that the taliban taking over the country is inevitable. i'm wondering from your perspective and from your reporting, does the pentagon agree with that assessment? >> reporter: it depends on what you mean by the taliban taking over the country. so they're already taking over large parts of the country and they have been for some time now, but they're more focused on the rural areas. that's because they don't have the same strength and support they have as they do closer to the capital in kabul. the taliban has large swaths of land, large percentages of land around the country, but they don't have kabul. that's what people are really concerned about at the pentagon, whom i'm speaking to. if they continue to push toward kabul and take it over, the government would fall. but then the question is do they with really want to take over kabul, or is their real effort here to take over as much of the country as they possibly ca

joining us now, dr. patel. thank you so much for getting up early with us. let's start here. with these covid variants on the rise, what do you think, what is the likelihood that all americans will eventually need a booster shot? >> yeah, jonathan, good to be with you this morning. i do think that it's an eventuality that we will all need a booster shot. the critical question is timing. the cdc advisory committee is meeting tomorrow to discuss that. i have a suspicion that coming out of that meeting they will recommend a third shot if you've had the mrna or a second shot if you've had the johnson & johnson vaccine and that's for a lot of important reasons, including the fact that as you mentioned, we don't have the real world evidence or some of the clinical trial data that would support that we all need that booster today. so i do think it will be limited. but eventually, we will all need some sort of third shot or second shot. >> and those limited populations, you think that is -- is that senior citizens, is that underlying health conditions, first responders? and what is y

tell us what happened without. guest: for years, i have been trying to get debates with gun control groups, they refuse to debate you. they have an agreement among themselves not to debate me. i cannot tell you the number of times i have gotten calls from tv networks to come in and do a show and then be disinvited when they are told the gun control groups will not debate me on tv. what happened in this case was a very elaborate, very expensive hoax that a gun control group put together to get me to do a dress rehearsal for a commencement address in las vegas. they set up a very good looking website that was there to get me to believe there was a school. they spent a lot of money on 20 staff members, big banners for the school, multiple tv cameras when i was there. i agreed to give a commencement talk to what i thought was a large graduating class of about 2000 high school seniors in las vegas. i thought, originally, i was going to give the type of talk i would give to my kids on how to pick a career and be successf
