unstable air that is writing up through the sierra nevada due to the monsoonal moisture coming in from arizona, southern california and once again affecting the sierra nevada. we are talking inclined, south way, south way, yosemite and all of those cities and further south into southern california. there is a flash flood watch in effect through the evening and we've had those flooding concerns moisture running off quickly from the burn scar area. so keep that in mind if you are in the mountains and unfortunately this is going to be the case throughout the day this weekend but we are looking at that likelihood of the cooler air in the inland valleys which is the good news. you can see scattered clouds from our cameras, 69 in mountain view, 67 in san jose so pretty mild to start out. pacifica even in the low 60s in san francisco 59. you can see fog in the district, it is starting to clear in santa rosa, 78 in vacaville but fairfield has southwest winds over 30 miles an hour and we are in the upper 60s in the inland valleys. you can see how smoky it is in the mountains here, so we've got a foggy

can see all of that subtropical moisture around the high pressure cell, the monsoonal moisture from arizona to southern california and into the sierra nevada and it has been pretty impressive for the mountains picking up anywhere from 2/10 in yosemite and some places picked up as much as an inch but the threat of debris b flow through the evening continues because the ground is so dry and can't absorb water so it just runs off creating mudslides and rockslides. you will notice from the central sierra through the mojave desert. as we look at clouds here, a beautiful view of walnut creek and the temperatures are mild with low 60s from mountain view and 61 in palo alto, san francisco is at 57 and gorgeous site here as we look at the east bagels camera. a nice day on the way, not as hot as it's been. the inland valleys have been really hot while around the bay and coast it's been breezy and cool. look at that 67 in vacaville. 57 in novato, cloudy skies here in the city and we've had fog mist and drizzle around the bay and the shoreline. sunny and not as hot inland looking at seasonal temperatur

in arizona, a search is underway for a teenager who was swept away by flash flooding as first responders tried to rescue her, the team was swept out from her car. her grandfather, a retired fire chief is determined to bring her home. >> we are not giving up. and we thank everyone for all your support. >> reporter: authorities recovered the body of a 4-year- old girl who was swept by floodwaters late thursday in the town of pima. rescuers pulled five family members to safety from their car, but the water pulled the vehicle away before they got to the little girl. >> is heartbreaking when something like this happens. >> reporter: the flooding comes as the drought fueled 90 fires in 11 states. in northern california, the state's largest fire exploded in size after merging with a smaller blaze. it is not burning in two counties, torching at least a dozen homes, threatening as many as 10,000. and this fire in montana, so destructive utah and california are sending resources despite the major fires burning in their own states. meanwhile, a jet fuel shortage in the west could put a strain on fi

then you go to arizona, south of flagstaff. a 16-year-old girl was in that car, she called 911. said water was knee level. then within a couple of minutes it was rising so quickly it went up to eight feet. the rescuers tried to get to her. she is still missing. this is why we say don't go in a car into the water. this is going to keep happening. this was advertised as of last week, the flash floods, they'll keep happening. as you can see here, this is in utah. it's all because we get the shift of wind and the water comes down. the water very quickly filling those neighborhoods. you never know what happens underneath the roads either. they could quickly disintegrate. today, the flash flood watches, anywhere from las vegas to los angeles, san diego valley and mountains, apple valley, all could see flash flooding. you get dry lightning in new oregon and that starts new floods. unfortunately, the monsoon doing major damage. >>> we're going to go to washington now and the committee to investigate the january 6th insurrection. house speaker nancy pelosi under fire from the gop leaders
