. >> reporter: good morning mary. it's a gorgeous morning at lexington reservoir where we are live in los gatos. it is the end of april and let's look at the past month and what water agencies are doing in response to the looming drought. we are in the santa clara valley water district. earlier this month the board voted to continue to call for voluntary 20% reduction in water usage and they're calculating off of the 2013 use. other agencies are going further. tomorrow east bay begin asking customers to voluntarily cut back by 10%. they do not have enough water to make it through the year and must purchase from outside the district. most agencies have a reserve for a year or two and uc davis center for watershed science says as we come off a second dry winter the short term message is clear that the drought is clear and water squeeze is coming. >> they need to worry but don't need to panic. in some areas, particularly agriculture and ecosystems, are really the most vulnerable areas. >> reporter: here is a round up of
