joe biden wants to reverse that. joe biden wants to double -- take capital gains tax rates up to the highest level in modern history and the market seems to be sleeping through these announcements. but are they betting that it just won't happen? >> i think it's 50/50 that it happens, dagen. i don't like tax increases. the market tends to not like tax increases. especially capital gains tax increases. you probably could pull some profits forward if it looks like that's going to go through. people would bank some profits between now and the end of the year before the tax takes effect, unless they make it retroactive. i don't think there's much out there that will derail the secular market. dagen: do you think the tax increases go through? i think raising -- i think certainly doubling the capital gains tax rate even if it's on people who earn more than $1 million a year would kill even -- would kill a rally, would kill a move up in stocks. i can't see it otherwise. james: you certainly would hope that some -- perhaps wh
