the metro atlanta economy is the tenth largest economy in the nation. so when you talk about boycotts in and around atlanta and the state as a whole, it's impacting small businesses. it impacts corporations that hire not just corporate officers but administrative assistants. people who clean up the building, work in the cafeteria. i respect the decision. i understand the decision, but i don't like the fact that we have been put in this position by our state legislature and our governor because the people of georgia will suffer. >> yeah. mayor bottoms, you've said that other dominos may fall as a result of this law in your state. have you heard from other companies who have signaled that they're not going do business in atlanta or in the state of georgia because of it? >> well, i do know that there are other large-scale events that are openly contemplating whether or not they will stay in our state. tourism is one of the largest industries in our state. delta airlines is one of the largest employers in our state. so this will have a devastating impact. a

correspondent jonathan serrie has details tonight from atlanta. good evening, jonathan. >> good evening to you, shannon. investigators are still trying to determine a motive. the gunman forced his way into the home of that prominent doctor who lived just outside of rock hill, normally a quiet town in upstate south carolina. 70-year-old dr. robert wesley and his wife barbara and two grandchildren ages 9 and 5 were found dead inside the home. the gunman also shot two air conditioning technicians 38-year-old james lewis was found dead outside the doctor's house. his co-worker called for help and is now hospitalized with severe gunshot wounds. and is fighting hard for his life, according to his cousin. the york county sheriff says it does not appear the gunman took anything from the home but he did leave evidence that led investigators to a immediately identify the suspect as former nfl player philip adams. >> we have no indication right now that there was a doctor-patient relationship between dr. leslie and philip aadams. >> authorities found adams d

the manhunt for a murder suspect who escaped from deputies near atlanta's airport is over. jssan strover is accused of murdering someone in a bar in arizona. he was caught in georgia. deputies say he took off when they tried to return their rental car at the airport. authorities didn't say where strover was found overnight. >>> eight former fraternity members were charged in the alcohol related death of a bowling green state university student. 20-year-old stone foltz was attending a pledge party for phi cappa alpha where he was told to drink a full bottle of alcohol, prosecutors say. he passed out then died three days later. the eight suspects are facing charges that range from hazing to manslaughter. they're expected in court on may 19th. >>> the arrest made in lady gaga's dognapping case. the singer's dog-walker was shot during the encounter. now it appears gaga's $500,000 reward helped investigators. here's abc's andrea fujii. >> reporter: this morning, multiple arrests in connection with the dognapping of lady gaga's two french bulldogs and shooting of her dog-walker.

major league baseball moving the all-star game out of atlanta in protest. the republican governor calling it a cancel culture move. and there are some surprising reactions to boycotts from leading georgia democrats. abc's steve osunsami is in atlanta. >> reporter: it's a strong message tonight from major league baseball to republican lawmakers who just passed and signed new voting restrictions in georgia. baseball commissioner robert manfred jr. is siding with a good number of black americans and business leaders who believe that the new rules are voter suppression, saying, "i have decided that the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport is by relocating this year's all-star game and mlb draft." >> major league baseball just caved to the pressure. >> reporter: this week the president came out encouraging this. >> i would strongly support them doing that. people look to them, they're leaders. >> reporter: but this is money and business we're talking about, and even many georgia democrats who fought the new rules are not happy with baseball's decisions.

blaine, what's the word in atlanta? >> they are taking the all-star game from atlanta, and the lead commissioner kind of said it was a herculean effort to move something like this, but they're doing it, anyway, to demonstrate their values as a league and a sport. here in georgia, there is one thing republicans and democrats can agree on, that they're not happy it's moving out of the state. yes, at the end of the day, it's going to be georgia businesses, georgia workers, the number of businesses and hotels near the park that will actually be suffering and feel the impact of this. but we're also seeing a very big case of finger pointing. democrats, of course, pointing at republicans saying it's the republican-led state legislature that put the state in this position, but as you just heard from georgia governor brian kemp, of course he is a staunch defender -- >> i'm sorry to interrupt. the trial has resumed and this is the questioning of the chief of police of the minneapolis police department. let's go back in. >> again,
