. >> congressman, you went to atlanta with the congressional delegation to pay your respects to the families of the victims of the shooting that took place there a little over two weeks ago now. what did you hear from them? what did they tell you? >> well, we met with some of the families of the victims and we, you know, while we can never comprehend what they are going through, we thank them because they told us about their moms' stories. they told us about how hard they worked. one of their biggest points of sadness was that their moms will never be able to enjoy the fruits of their labor after years and decades of working, you know, almost virtually every single day, barely taking a day off. and we are thankful for their families telling those stories because it actually tells the stories of so many asian-american women across this country and in our history, stories which have been ignored for way too long. >> when we talk about a community being under attack, there's some of the violent acts we're seeing, but there's also being a victim of the voter suppression laws sweeping the country

i remember actually going to the presidential library, carter's library in atlanta and walking around like a mondale geek, i'm looking for joan's dress and those kinds of things from the inauguration. on the wall, i see these words that were actually the words that mondale uttered shortly after they lost, summarizing their four years. and he said, "we told the truth. we obeyed the law. we kept the peace." and that was a lot of my touchtone during the trump years. i had written that down in a piece of paper and put it in my purse. we told the truth, obeyed the law and kept the peace. jimmy carter and walter modale were men of integrity. they bonded on that. what was school having worked for mondale at the law firm afterwards and back on side of my races, including the presidential race, i got to see how the two of them kept talking through time. they would work on things together. carter came out from a funeral just a few years ago and he traveled to minnesota and spoke at her funeral. their friendship strengthened after they left office. >> michael beschloss, it was my privilege at my

this will quickly move to the east, into atlanta, all parts of georgia down toward savannah, charleston, columbia, south carolina, and also northern florida. the problem is that the front's going to get stuck right in that general area. that means a lot of rain. where you see the purple, look at this, enterprise alabama, valdosta, georgia, that's three to six inches of rain. watch out for flash flooding today. now we're having the opposite problem across the west coast where right now 60% of the west covered under severe, extreme, or exceptional drought. it has been exceptionally dry. here's some good news -- storm is going to be slamming into the west coast. this is a very late-season storm. it is rare you see storms this late in the season. it will bring snow and rain and a little bit of relief. but here's the problem -- as soon as this gets out into the plains states, we're talking about likely a significant tornado outbreak as we head into tuesday and wednesday across the central plains states. michelle? >> all right. thank you. >>> president biden is attempting to turn his words at

that's according to a letter obtained by the "atlanta journal-constitution." this comes after coke publicly criticized georgia's new election law passed by the republican-controlled legislature. critics, of course, say the law unfairly restricts voting access, particularly to minorities. coke, as well as the atlanta-based delta airlines and more than a hundred other companies have publicly come out against the law. and major league baseball has pulled this year's all-star game from the state of course. the corporate fight against georgia's new election law got started when dozens of current and former black corporate executives joined forces to challenge the law and lawmakers. tony west is the chief legal officer at uber and one of those 72 black executives who signed a letter pledging to protect voter rights. he spoke to cnn about the responsibility corporate america has on the issue. >> well, look, i think, you know, american businesses have always made their voices heard in our democracy on all kinds of critical issues, right, whether it's tax policy or h1-
