correspondent jonathan serrie has details tonight from atlanta. good evening, jonathan. >> good evening to you, shannon. investigators are still trying to determine a motive. the gunman forced his way into the home of that prominent doctor who lived just outside of rock hill, normally a quiet town in upstate south carolina. 70-year-old dr. robert wesley and his wife barbara and two grandchildren ages 9 and 5 were found dead inside the home. the gunman also shot two air conditioning technicians 38-year-old james lewis was found dead outside the doctor's house. his co-worker called for help and is now hospitalized with severe gunshot wounds. and is fighting hard for his life, according to his cousin. the york county sheriff says it does not appear the gunman took anything from the home but he did leave evidence that led investigators to a immediately identify the suspect as former nfl player philip adams. >> we have no indication right now that there was a doctor-patient relationship between dr. leslie and philip aadams. >> authorities found adams d

over the weekend, major league baseball pulling up the all-star game from atlanta. my question is, how does this kind of pressure sit with political leaders? can it be effective in getting them to change a law? >> this is really vaccinating. it is been a fascinating develop ment. it did not start with this georgia law. we saw it in places like north carolina with the bathroom bill. we are seated on gay rights and other states. the laws and other states. what is happening, and this is especially true in the south, these metro regions like atlanta, dallas, houston that were pretty republican have become a lot more democratic. this is where these companies are headquartered and many of their employees come from those blue areas. they live in those blue areas and those expectations are that the companies they work for reflect the values that they share. that is a bg reason why we are seeing in states where they have incredible influence but were that influence is really relegated to just the metro region. what i think happens is that it divides e state. once again betwe

a month ago we watched the horrible images from two mass shootings in and around atlanta. seems along time ago, doesn't it? mass shootings are so common it may be soon hard for one not to fall on the anniversary of another. this is a map of mass shootings in just the last month, which were defining as four or more people shot, wounded or killed excludeing the gunman. one other thing to note, there is only room on the map to show a little less than half. the full count, again, over just a single month since the atlanta shootings is 45 and the map is profound as it might be doesn't do justice to the story. doesn't capture the horror. doesn't capture the wounds and the deaths of so many americans. the map doesn't tell the story of the five people who were shot and wounded on march 17th in stockton, california, or the four shot in gresham oregon a day later. in houston on the 20th five shot at a nightclub in dallas, eight shot and one killed in philadelphia that night someone opened fire at a party killing one and wounding five, at least 150 others fled for their lives and on
