The city tests its tap water frequently, and there is good news: the water meets or surpasses all standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency. This includes tests for more than 100 contaminants, such as bacteria, nitrates, pesticides, solvents, and metals. Rep. Ginny Klevorn (DFL-Plymouth) had a bill that was part of the larger agricultural bill that Gov. Walz signed in June. “People think of it as a greater Minnesota issue, but in fact it’s a suburban issue,” said Klevorn. “We have many agricultural entities that are very near to us, like Cargill in Plymouth.” Klevorn also touched on infrastructure projects like Bus Rapid Transit down Hwy 55 and revamping County Road 47. http://www.ccxmedia.org http://twitter.com/ccxsports...

In this week’s CCX Fishing Tip, Hall of Fame angler Terry Tuma talks about duplication. Terry says too often he sees anglers catch a fish and then move to an area, rather than trying to duplicate the success they just had landing a fish. Terry suggests marking the fish with your electronics- because there will be more to catch- and attempt to replicate the depth that your lure is at, trolling speed (if you are trolling), and finding the same structure, if you are near structure in the lake....

The petition seeks to turn the mayor’s position into a full-time job, much like Minneapolis and St. Paul. Voters could see the proposal on the ballot this fall. Liubov and Ihor Nelha's trek to the U.S. was long and emotional. The couple fled Ukraine in February with their seven children, who range in age from 3 to 10. The family arrived in Elk River on April 19. Serg Zastavskiy, a youth minister with Golgotha Slavic Church in Plymouth, says the church helped the couple find resources and a place to stay.
