Being the background music of Hugi #18, 'Medithor' is now a guestrelease for our team. The style reminds me a bit of the german band 'Wolfsheim' - catchy and sometimes poppy melodies paired with chillout elements. Many of the original releases on Language Lab were released in 'tracker' format (IT/XM/MOD), and have been converted to OGG for preservation here, because ITs, XMs, and MODs sometimes play back incorrectly in player programs such as WinAmp, and are even more difficult to play on Linux and Mac systems. So, this is a collection of all the original source XM/IT/MOD files from the Language Lab collection, for archival and comparison purposes.

Realsmokers delivers a dark EP consisting of 3 excellent dancefloor tunes. Capefear Remix is a very dark but thumping track, it'll crawl into you and take over total control. The combination of the beat and bassline will surely keep you moving all night. If you thought the original was good, this one's even better! Castout is another dark stomper, but this time it's more aggressive. This one'll surely get you into a paranoia hyped up mood. Stylez is a total dancefloor burner, matching up to the...

Now it's time for some big dub. The two finnish bass dealers, also known as Takomo, provide some heavy shit. Mary Wana is an intense breakbeat track with some dubby sounds and is aimed straight to the dancefloor. Sure man, i'll give you some of that stuff, brother. Pacelift, who already featured on our first ep is now back with some BT-influenced beats. As usual for him, trancy synths combine with rolling beats and a twisted bassline, but this time the result is now harder than his track on the...

After Overflow's excellent debut we've got something for you to sit down and relax. It's our man nightwatch serving us some calm+dreamy melodies here. Taajuus, our new artist hailing from Nokia in Finland brings us two trance-flavoured drum'n'bass tracks with rough breaks and big basslines. Desire is more breakbeat oriented track with melancholic pads and trancy melodies which collide with heavily chopped breakbeats and hard bassline. It's easy to hear that one of the Taajuus' biggest influences in drum'n'bass is Technical Itch. Infection is more fastpaced than it's a-side, and maybe a bit more suitable to the dancefloor, but it also moves...

Along with his other netlabels releases, 50 girls and underfire combine to make a fine assortment of audio offerings for all tastes. This time around with 50 girls he gives you a definate depeche mode / underworld offering with the disfunctional vocals with heavy effects. A track you can bounce along to, get your teeth into and generally enjoy - its not hard. Underfire is a simple yet interesting track which also sounds pretty much like early 80's style disco - those sweeping leads and heavily...

A crazed selection of atmospherical extravaganza mixed in with high power beats and sublime sounds. Amazon Rain starts off slow and mellow but brings in the high powered sounds that make dance producers proud. Drum and Bass rocks throughout - this is one track designed to test your bass binns to the limit! quality. Oceans is another high power offering guaranteed to give you a caffeine free rush - a complementary track to come down to after visiting the Rain Forest.

Another guest - it's Techleash on the remix trip. He took Jaywolf's "T.E.C.H" (originally released on Bamboo Productions) and made a minimalistic kicker out of it. Reunion EP starts with Blue Gold by Pacelift, our new artist hailing from Finland. Blue Gold is an atmospheric, almost epic breaks track, with slight influences from the Good Looking side of the jungle. Sweet melodies and great atmospheres, but also fat beats and a catchy bassline. You'll either hum the lead melody or the bassline for the next week. Opia's Slow Mo The Moth could be described with word "atmospheric" as well. Sounding like Boards of Canada, although more organic, this...

Combining professional arrangements and techniques with high quality sounds, Virgill again disposes a grand piece of audio, this time with the aid of Tasium. 4 minutes and 45 seconds of variation, electronic gadgets and wonderful vocals, underlined by smooth beats create an intense atmosphere. We badly recommend to sit down in the late afternoon, 'take a smoke' and simply enjoy these dreamy sound scapes that will certainly catch you and, finally, evoke strange feelings. This track is also...

Chemical beats straight out of Hungary. Nagz gives us some bouncy beats combined with great acidlines, and the right groove. It's Xhale here with some, as the title already tells, drumba with a 'Touch Of Photek'. Love that, you know?
