The Common was founded in the summer of 1995 . Starting off as an acoustic duo, The Common began to attract the attention of more musicians. Constantly adding, diversifying, and enhancing their music, they grew to the healthy number of five.
One might ask, What's the band's key element that keeps the fans in awe? I'll tell you. Diversity. Their range of music goes from Pop, to Funk, to Alternative, to Jazz. The Common's original material tends to lean more towards Rock and Jazz, but they love to throw in a wake up call every now and again.
Their full-length demo, entitled Centered, will make you a believer, but a live performance will simply blow you away. Their energy, their style, all contributes to the feeling of the show. The steady beat of the rhythm section, Josh Myers (Drums) and Baun (Bass), will make you move. The mastered vibe from Phil Garis (Guitar) will captivate you. The Jazz / Blues solos from Adam Stein (Saxophone /Keyboards) and Pete Hopkins (Vocals / Guitar / Harmonica) will move you. And the contrasting vocal arrangements and will add the final touch to leave you screaming for more. Does The Common have what it takes to bring the music world to its knees? Maybe maybe not, but we have a damn good time trying!
