MADFACE He gained his musical insight from his involvement with the church. Whether it be playing the drums, piano or singing in the choir. Music has always been a part of his life.
As a native Jamaican, reggae music played a dominant role in his musical upbringing. That is until the age of eight when he arrived in Canada, where he was exposed to hip hop culture. By the age of fifteen he was consumed with hip hop. It had become a part of his life. Hip hop gave him the outlet he needed to express himself in a positive way. It was and still is a resource for him to vent his anger and frustrations. MadFace can see that Canadian hip hop is on the verge of a revolution, and he intends to be a part of it.
HIS STYLE MadFaces' style can be described as a dose of reality, straight up and straight forward. A perfect blend between the positive and negative aspects of lifes' trails and tribulations. His self conscious and down to earth lyrics are a breath of fresh air. No bling blinging here.
HIS NAME He chose the name MadFace to reflect the hard times that life dealt him. During those times he was Mad at the world and had to Face it on his own. Fortunately for him things are about to change.
Hip hop allows me to express my thoughts plus my feelings. For me personally it's like a spiritual healing.
