this morning and will it trend continue this morning. >> yeah, it's going to be pretty mild. some spots may get to the 90s. this heating trend is only going to last for today. and we're going to take back down tomorrow into thursday. but for now it is going to be a warm day and it's already warming up just a bit this morning. we're going to start off taking a look at your weather headlines. we are seeing some gusty winds in the higher hills of the north bay. but overall it's really going to be a warmer day. along the coast we will see some cloud cover. for the most part and maybe some cooler temperatures as well. but the afternoon is really when we're going to be seeing that peak heat of the day and it's going to warm up just about 3 to 5 degrees more than what we saw yesterday. it will be a warm one today especially for our inland cities. tomorrow it will be cooler. we are expecting a cooldown tomorrow and the next day as tuy

morning. san francisco 56 degrees this and san jose is at 58 degrees. this is just a little bit warmer than wla we were seeing at this time yesterday. we will warm up for most. fairfield year getting to 92 degrees today. oakland could reach about 75 degrees. san francisco will warm up a bit to 70 degrees and san jose 83. napa also 83 degrees. so it will be a nice one all around for today. so if you're not a big fan of the hot temperatures, well it will cool down just a bit. allie what's going on on the roads? >> it's not looking good. the only thing you see on your screen there eastbound 80 that's eastbound direction in the non commute direction that's a

twright-hand shoulder. it's not backing things up. just south of there through the 880. there's a stalled vehicle and they're waiting for a tow truck to come clear it out of of the way. 16 minutes from the carquinez bridge to the carquinez maze. you're going to have an easy drive all the way through the bay bridge toll plaza. 4:32 let's go back to the desk. we have a number of developing stories we're following for you this morning. all northbound lanes on 680 in san jose are open after a deadly shooting on the freeway. chp officers found a man dead inside a gray sedan. the car was found in the median. the lanes were shut down for about four hours chp officers investigated the scene and

looked for evidence. police have not released details about the shooting or possible suspect. we will have live throughout th. a search is under way for a suspect involved in a high-speed chase and shootout with east bay authorities. when officers responded to a burglary call late last night in hayward. we're told two men were spotted walking out of the back of a business. there were several shots fired in oakland but it does not appear anyone was hit. one suspect was arrested but we understand another is on the loose and that there is an active scene right now near 106th in oakland. and we will have updates throughout the morning. the san mateo county sheriff's office is investigating a death near skyline boulevard. the body close to reed's roost road.

a spokeswoman could not tell us how long the investigati last or w the road would re-open. we are in contact with the sheriff's office though, and we'll let you know as soon as we get updates on that. prufrn is kicking off his re-election campaign today in orlando, florida. >> we wanted to make sure we got in the building since tens and thousands of people are expected. >> people started lining up outside the amway center this morning. they were camped out in the pouring rain in order to get one of the 20,000 seats inside. those who cannot get in will be sent to an overflow area with the protests slammed by groups of the administration's policies like immigration. >> this is a man that has no humility for pulling kids away from their families. >> florida's a long standing battleground state and both parties will campaign heavily

any possible enforcement efforts. the senator kicked off her campaign in oakland in january and the center for public integrity says the city spent $122,000 to police the event. the money is due next week. harris' spokes person says the campaign is working to square away any cost. democratic presidential candidate pete buttigieg. the south bend, janz indiana mayor says he believes. the response followed a question about whether americans might react adversely to buttigieg. well a comedian and rapper is responding to the trump administration's ban on u.s.

embassies around the world flying pride flags. he bought the town of michigan and re-named it gay the only flags allowed to fly are pride flags. it's not clear whether daniel has actually purchased the town but he does own several businesses there including a wedding chapel and souvenir shop and he is considered its unofficial mayor. happening today, the san francisco board of supervisors will vote on two measures to ban ecigarettes and vaping in the city. until they're approved by the fda. supervisors are also considering another proposal that would ban the sale, manufacturing, and distribution of tobacco vaping products on city property. the mayor phoenix is holding a community meeting today to address police aggression against an african american family. the company is involved with suing the city after officers held him at gun point outside a

dollar store. police video shows officers with their guns drawn. but the parents say they were following the officers' orders. they were seen walking out of the store with a barbie doll. >> my daughter's terrified to this day of the police. she wakes up in the middle of the night crying. my 1-year-old is so attached to me i can't go nowhere without her. >> now the parents say they had no idea their 4-year-old daughter even had the doll and say the apology offered by police is not enough. an investigation is under way. phoenix mayor calls the officers' actions quote inappropriate and unprofessional. hip hop mogul jay-z is showing his support for the young family. the label's managing director says quote there's no place for

that behavior we're cal officers in question. a concord man arrested and charged for threatening a mass shooting at a synagogue. the 23-year-old suspect was in possession of an illegal assault rifle and nazi memorabilia. will he's suspected of posting comments in an online chat room that was traced to his home in this quiet concord neighborhood. >> neighbor karen try says she was working at a neighborhood polling place when farca and his fa vote last year. she said she was disturbed by news that the 23-year-old is charged with threatening a mass shooting. and police confiscated items from his home along with high capacity magazines, and

welcome back to mornings on 2. a church in hayward is lending a hand to ease the housing crisis. the goal is to create homes for dozens of people in the community who need help. >> a year-long project to refurbish dilapidated apartments in hayward have reached a halfway point. the impetus inspiration across the street from the former church pastor jerry macklin. >> we believe the church is not only for the sanctuary and people who attend here. we have a responsibility for the whole community. >> increasingly all communities are seeing the price of housing move out of reach for the masses. the result is a wave of homeless

they were going through basic training of radio procedures and learning how weather plays a big factor in how fast a fire can move and grow. cal fire says it has new strategies and new equipment. >> we have new helicopters that are coming into service that have the ability to fly at night. we have a large air tanker program coming online which is the c130 aircraft which is something we've never had before. so we're kind of attacking this problem from all angles. >> and there is also a new meaning of a regular flag warning. it no longer means conditions are causing a potential fire danger. it now means when it will be catastrophic. people living in parts of california will soon start seeing some television ads asking them to do their part to protect homes against wild fires. >> you can solve an emergency

afternoon hours. we're expecting to see temperatures pick up about 3 to 5 degrees compared to yesterday. right now starting off the morning pretty cool in oakland. 60 degrees in fairfield and walnut creek. 57 in fremont. 58 san jose. and 56 degrees in san francisco. like i said, we're going to be warming up. santa rosa expected to hit 83 degrees. nice in the city. 88 degrees in hayward is where we're expecting to get. 80 degrees in pleasanton. 82 degrees in mountain view. and san mateo 80 degrees today. now there is a heat advisory. this doesn't really affect many pooemg other than our friends in vacaville and lake county. there is this heat advisory that starts at around 9:00 this morning that goes until 10:00tht
