finally started to trend downward after january. 4th, but it's not a fast process. according to health officer doctor matt willis, our case rates are going down more slowly than you know, we're now seeing about 200, 50 cases on average per day in marin county. >> and that's been the stable number for the past 3 or 4 days down 40% from the peak of omicron alameda county health officer doctor nicholas moss says omicron also peek at the beginning of the month. he's now paying attention to hospitalizations which tend to lag behind case numbers repeat with our hospitalizations. we are very similar to where we were in it with lots of surge beiore the first positive omicron case in the country was discovered in san francisco, the watershed, the santa clara county detected the variant doctor. sara cody says the vaccines help prevent hospitalizations, but they weren't 100% effective. and that's where we pair it >> so if you wear a mask and everyone around, you wears a mask about where a very important layer of
>> protection masks are still required indoors, regardless of vaccination status until at least february 15th. the omicron is on the decline. health officers in the bay area say it would be a mistake to lift mandates. now we do not want to threaten the progress that we've achieved through those behaviors to those i can assure gifting them staying the course for the next few weeks, but with a positive outlook, we will have a chance hopefully, you know, as we have done over time throughout the pandemic, remove more and more the restrictions. health officers are also seeing a new subvariant of omicron called ba 2. they say that it doesn't seem to be that different from omicron when it comes to spread and cause of severe disease in san francisco. i'm rob nesbitt kron. 4 news get up of our new crop for reporters to time. emmy winner. if you saw the statues are a shoulder. >> the california department of public health confirms that there are 11 cases. >> of new omicron subvariant and at least 2 cases in santa clara county. they warned us

must show proof they're fully vaccinated before stepping inside businesses, nonprofits and other organizations. so that includes bars, theaters, entertainment, chips and any large indoor event with 500 or more people. and that order applies to anyone who is 5 e% years or older. so good to go. if you are up to date on their vaccinations, including your booster shot, if you are eligible now, the city's health officer says these are the places where the virus can spread easily and by state up to date on the vaccine's, people are less likely to get infected. and the city of berkeley is also ordering all employees at that. he was in the city to be up to date on their vaccinations, starting february 7 workers at these places on your screen. must have their covid vaccinations and their booster shot. if they are eligible. so as you can see, this includes restaurants and gyms, indoor events with 500 people or more adult care facilities, dental
offices, pharmacies as well as public and private child care facilities. and this applies to all employees, contractors and volunteers who work at these now, there's a question of what does it mean if you're up to date on your vaccination? well, it's been less than 5 months. and you've got your pfizer and moderna shot. that means you are up to date on your vaccination or if you've got your 3rd at least 5 months after your second shot. you are also up to date on her vaccinations. if you it's been less than 2 months since you've got the johnson and johnson shot or you've got the second dose of any brand, at least 2 months after j and j shot. so be sure to check your vaccination card see if you are up to date on their vaccinations started. i actually key. i knew i know you have the phone thing and you got pictures. but i keep that little card. it's all to get a little ready to have the card. you actually use the physical card. >> yeah, well, the city of
representatives are so many ways that you can check your vaccination. so i have my card. i've also done the digital. >> vaccination cards. so they some are ways that you can check to see if you are up to date on vaccinations. is that idea in case you watch that pair of jeans and then what happens to that >> thank you. camila. >> how you doing on masks? you have enough. today. the cvs pharmacies in target are going to start giving out free n 95 masks this. cbs says the masks are limited to 3 mask per person and they're just going to while supplies last. all the stores are going to post signs indicating they have them seat and look like that. this is part of the federal retail pharmacy program. all the masks are provided by the federal government so that cbs and that's the cbs is in the targets. i don't know about the other cbs exempt. remember, i told at the walgreens they're supposed to be given away. and walgreens starting tomorrow. the 41 niners going have another day of practice today, getting ready to face the rams in the
nfc championship game. and this morning we have updates from the players. kron four's will tran also giving us a an update as he continues our coverage from the scene of the big helmet. i love every day from can you get in the big town that can you report? is there a way in their out? >> can it? >> no, no, it's all blocked and believe me, there are security guards here. so unless you want to pay my bail, answer is i'm going to be right here. but i do see the players drive-in because they have to wait live to have a look at video. and today once again, they will have full contact practice because they are getting ready. obviously for the second biggest game of the season. this is the biggest game. and if they go to the super bowl, that'll be the biggest game. but >> more than likely we are down to that last few days of the jimmy g let's face it. he has been on the hot seat all season. here's the good news. despite his thumb, he is full
go. he's ready to go on sunday. trent williams, the offensive lineman. he helps hold things down as far as ground and pound and giving jimmy g time. he was not at practice yesterday. but coach kyle shanahan says it looks like he will be ready to go on sunday as well. elijah mitchell that ground and pound specialist the running back. he's going to go. lot of people got banged up during the season and especially banged up against the green bay packers deebo samuel took a knee and he sees me a helmet to the need and that caused him to live. i mean, imaghne if that game went into overtime. i mean, maybe he doesn't come back, but they won it in lambeau, freezing tundra of lambeau field. will be cold down in los angeles. all eyes the sunshine. everybody will be looking at jimmy g and he knows it. >> think just knowing knowing yourself and knowing where you are plays a big part of that because, you know, if you get lost in and start believe in some of those things that could take you down the wrong
road. so. think it's just yourself as a player as a person. as long as these guys in this locker room, i have faith in me and believed and that's all i really care about. faithful travel i mean, it's when you can get your fans behind you like that on a road game and we knew it. i mean, before the game even started, there's a lot of red. you can see it. but once we start making plays may start getting loud, just change the momentum of the game. i think. >> for sure. and it looks like a 65% of the people at sunday's game literally in the seats will be forty-niners fans. they will be traveling. and so that's why the forty-niners they're encouraging their fans to go down the rams. they're desperately pleading to their fans. please don't resell your tickets. the niners fans, the ticket prices are still sky-high. so perhaps some people are looking to make a profit. the bottom line is the forty-niners. they the rams 6 consecutive games looking for
number 7. and if you're worried about that line this morning from las vegas, it's basically a pick game with the rams favored to win by 3 and a half. and if you think about it, home teams get 3 point so it's basically starts off at 2.5. >> versus 0 points when the game starts. so it's a pickup game. winner goes to the super bowl. jimmy g i know a lot of people love him more than likely. if you lose this, this could be his last game because you don't trade up. >> to draft trey lance. you know, to be a quarterback know that that's why he had to answer those questions at practice yesterday. but plenty so cool. he so. >> self assured and calm and i don't you just i'm so impressed. i almost you know, you want to hate him so gorgeous. he's so good looking into. but he just kind of is like, hey, i just believe i do buy that. i buy it.
>> 26 $1. you can call me anything. i a lot more for a lot you pay me 126 million dollars. you call me anything. considerably a lot more for a considerably. a lot less. yeah. >> i don't know it. just if you had somebody all like yet like a little will tran junior ready to take your job over your shoulder right now like that helmet. and he was we we you know, would you be like so cool? >> my direct deposit. it works. like. i said, i faced a lot more for a lot. one. 26 people. right. we'll doing a great job of it. whatever it is a $1.95, whatever, again, thank you will 7.30, right now. and still ahead on the kron, 4 morning news. >> governor newsom's latest announcement spending a 10 billion dollars on electric vehicles. why he says it could really go a long way to help
