but if you go inland, i noticed driving in john. i ran into a little bit of fog this morning yeah, definitely. i inland valleys and right along the bay shore for the south bay. >> and on up the east bay shoreline were also running into some pockets of fog, too. so be mindful that you may be leaving the house without any in your front yard. but then a few miles away pockets of fog could certainly be seen that could hold you up just a little bit as you're venturing outside. now, as far as we go to golden gate bridge. it's not the foggiest of mornings. we will have some fog along the coastline. it will be keeping an eye on that. but as of right now, you're doing fine at the golden gate bridge. san jose in mountain view hayward as well. santa rosa in the vicinity of some patches of fog that i do want you to be mindful of as you are venturing out to make your way into work on this tuesday morning. radar is showing a continuation of our dry skies so nothing to hold you up there. roadways continue to remain dry 40's and 50's for our current temperatures oakland europe. 49 right now the late going to cool 45. well, dublin livermore novato

and santa rosa, each of 41 degrees later on today. expect daytime highs to climb a little bit further than they did yesterday into the low 70's for most of the bay area making for a comfortably. cool feel later on today. now, as far as the roads go, we've already mentioned that it's a bit foggy and pockets out there. the bay bridge is free of that fog and free of a lot of traffic so far. 80 from supreme on streets. only going to take you 7 minutes. the san mateo bridge 92 over the bay from 80 to one o one is a 12 minute commute. well, the golden gate bridge as we noted, not seeing any fog out there. and also a pretty easy drive as you head from 37 to the tolls. only 19 minutes and hardly a car on the bridge right now. james. all right, john, thank you very much. travel bans are in place for non us citizens coming from 8 nations in south africa. >> and we have a list of the mall. you can see the map here. the white house first announced the restrictions last week in an effort to contain the spread of the overcrowding variant of

covid-19. now president biden acknowledge that these travel restrictions. it won't prevent the spread of the variant, but he's hoping it at least slow it down. >> it gives us time gives us time to take more actions to move quicker make sure people understand you have to get your vaccine. you have to get the shot. you have to get get the booster. if you. >> yeah. as for how the new variant is affecting air travel in and out of the bay area. most flights are expected to be affected at sfo. there are actually very few direct flights from that part of the world travelers would have to connect through heathrow airport in london or jfk or another large airport. still those passing through say that mccraw variant is raising some concerns. >> now it's become very scary. the fly because now that the book about the new. new of i don't. if covid-19 it's become to be scary. the job and especially in the afternoon. yeah. because of people like,

when a group of kids armed with a gun robbed, a pizza delivery worker. the car was later found by investigators on sunday morning and a 1213 year-old were taken into custody. the second ended with a crash early sunday morning, another 13 year-old who police say also had a gun is accused of taking a car in oakland and leading police on a chase through the city of antioch before crashing into a starbucks in oakley continue to be heartbroken. >> by by seeing this. it is it's not far removed from anu of us. not burrell is the ceo of youth uprising. she says the lack of outlets and a failure by adults is contributing to the increase in these crimes. >> in terms of punishment burrell believes that's not the issue. i do not believe we've been stopped. we have definitely not been proactive and intentional enough to make sure when they come home. there's a plan last month. police arrested an 11 year-old along with other juveniles in connection with the crime spree in berkeley and in

april, a group of teens were caught after trying to carjack a man outside of his home in san leandro. the ages of the suspects has become increasingly alarming and burrell says the focus needs to be on rehab. and coming up with fresh start resources for kids who leave the juvenile justice system is it just jail. what else can we do while we even have them in our presence. it's not ok, here's the key. you do some time. and that's it. what rehabilitation can happen. well, we have their attention. we have them reporting in san francisco. dan thorn kron 4 news. 4.37 is the time santa clara police say that they're investigating now after a shoe store was robbed twice in less than a week by a large group of burglars. >> police say the group of about 2 dozen people forced their way into the store inside the santa clara town inside the santa clara town center on el camino on stol shoes clothing. it happened last tuesday around one in the morning. and then again sunday

night at about 1130. according suspects right now. if you have any information about these crimes. maybe you can help out called police. in the meantime, a story you'll see only on kron 4 this morning. another small business was burglarized in oakland and surveillance cameras capture 2 thieves breaking into renegade running on grand avenue near broadway. this was late sunday. cropper is tailored for sacking has the story. >> i don't know how many more incidents like this we can take to keep our doors open. one of the owners of renegade running victor diaz is contemplating keeping his doors open for business in oakland. >> after they were most recently shattered late sunday night and looks like 2 individuals broke and to the store. >> they attempted to smash one closest to the sidewalk and we're not able to penetrate that window and then. tried the door and then were able to penetrate through through into

the store through that door surveillance cameras captured the burglars going in and out of the store multiple times. >> killing several bags of items and eventually taking off in a getaway car parked right outside the business diaz spoke to us on monday as workers came to replace the glass door between the shoes stolen and the damage he says the theft costs the store at least $5,000. and this isn't the first time diaz says the running shops been broken into 3 times this year. when you're building community. >> and we love being in oakland. and when something like this happens, it's just it's just heart it's sad. of course it's a little scary and frightening. he says a lot of businesses in the area are on edge after the numerous burglaries these last couple of weeks. there are people who. >> logically do not want to come downtown do not want to being involved in any kind of physical altercation with people either saving the goods in their car or been witness to it in a store. and again,

it feels like. you know, the police are so short staff that they're not visible through no fault of their own and there's no city. our public officials that are out talking to us, you know, to find out. either what they can do or to hear from them what they are doing. so all of it just feels like kind of a big ball of like frustration and wondering and and then sometimes in some cases just feeling. you know, like maybe there is no way out. >> that's frustrating. that was taylor reporting. and meanwhile on the peninsula, daly city police are searching for these 2 men. they're accused of stealing more than $3500 worth of merchandise from the macy's at the ceremony shopping center. this happened sunday or saturday november 20th police say the suspects may have fled the scene in a white mercedes sedan with a california license plate number beginning with the number 8. if you recognize the man on your screen, you're asked to contact daly city police. well

following a chain of retail robberies here in the bay area. seniors are being warned now to stay vigilant while wearing jewelry outside police say the 2 thefts happened in san ramon of the holidays and many more throughout the bay area. 2 seniors were robbed in plain daylight. one near mosaic park in the other along cinnamon ridge road. both deaths had one thing in common. the seniors were out walking alone. police say the thieves started chatting with the seniors from their car. that's when i got out, though, and used a slight of hand technique to steal their jewelry. seniors are asked to be very cautious office. he was walking outside. they say the thieves in both crimes are different. so they're not connected. i don't believe thankfully none of the seniors were physically injured, but obviously emotionally distraught now. we'll take a break at 4.41 be right back. coming up next on the kron 4 morning news the forty-niners are down to players will tell you what their coach says needs to happen before they play the seahawks this coming weekend. we are

back. time now for 45 here on the kron 4 morning news. let's check the weather quickly with john trouble in the weather center as we take a look outside. >> what we see in just a little patchy fog out there, john, just a little patchy fog this morning. that's about the only issues that we've had

that with any sort of a commute that you had the past couple of weeks as we just dry dry it out late november and today being the month will keep that trend going into the start of the new month now skies are clear for most areas. but as james noted there's definitely some patchy fog out there. not necessarily near the coast or over the berkeley hills. but sitting along the bay side in some areas further southward and then some patchy valley fog further inland as well. and definitely more of an impact from fog than what we had yesterday. so do note this as you do leave the house to the north of us. that's where rain and snow continues to be. we have seen continued flooding issues for the pacific northwest. western canada, not just the opposite here in the bay area. we love to see us tapping back into that atmospheric river. the jet stream cent well to the north. but what we've got is just a high pressure ridge that if anything is keeping thing sunny and a bit hazy at times. air quality will be moderate yet again today. that's

because we have a cap right over the bay that's keeping a lot of pollutants trapped here with us. that's the high pressure ridge right there for you. futurecast shows clear skies today. more of that into tomorrow for december 1st. and we're going to hold on to these clear skies on into thursday, friday and saturday of the weekend temperatures cooling just a couple of degrees come the weekend. today, though, is actually going to be a touch of a warmer day than yesterday was 60's for your highs in sf even a 70 in half moon bay right along the coastline and a fair share of 70's along the bayshore burlingame at 71 saying carlos a really nice 72 south bay temps as warm as the mid 70's with campbell at 74 degrees today low 70's from fremont hayward on up through san leandro. oakland and richmond holding on to the upper 60's while the north bay some of our cooler spots mostly in the upper 60's. and then as you head out to the coastline. some low 60's in stinson beach in point rays tomorrow. just those just like today, low 70's for your highs as we kick off the new month. we'll stay the same into

thursday before a touch of a cooler weekend skies. sunny skies dry all the way through the start of next week. bridges this morning, easy going not even just our bridges. all of the routes across the bay are still looking very nice. a smooth drive from the maze to fremont street meteor meteor lights are not on yet. so it's only going to take you 7 minutes to make it across the bay. 12 minutes across the san mateo bridge. a little bit of an uptick in traffic, especially heading westbound. but just fine as far as that commute goes and the golden gate bridge. not a whole lot of traffic just yet pretty empty out there. only 18 minutes from 37 to the tolls. james. thank you, john, for 47 the time for your money this morning. the biden administration says that stores will be fully stocked for the holidays. the president back hosted ceos of several major retailers at the white house in an effort to. >> calm americans, concerns over product shortages. the goal of the event was to try and brainstorm solutions for the global supply chain.

bottlenecks that we're seeing in the inflation that's been running rampant here through the holiday shopping season. one transportation expert says the president needs to temporarily loosened truck driver. our regulations and also let younger drivers enter the system, maybe even as young as 18 madgen 18nyear-old driving big rigs through town. interesting. well, in southern california, a naval base is being tapped now to help alleviate congestion and shortage problems at los angeles county ports. hopefully in time for the holiday shopping season. the ventura county star is reporting that the port of why to me has an agreement now with naval base. ventura county to use a wharf and 2 buildings and some land inside the base. the extra land will make it easier to process more cargo while keeping congestion down the joint use agreement dates back to 2002. but this is the first time in more than a decade that it's actually been activated. gas prices have stabilized somewhat nationwide and in the bay area as state prices continue to

inch upwards. triple a says the gas prices here in the bay area have gone up or down only a fraction of a cent in most areas say if you're not going to really feel it either way, recent fluctuations in the price of crude oil have helped. and as for gas prices in the bay area. napa has the highest right now at $4.90, on average. san francisco follows closely at for 88 center fell 47 san jose for ad. and as you can see, oakland, he's averaging about 4.79 for a gallon of regular. all right. 2 key players won't be hitting the field with the forty-niners this weekend and the santa cruz warriors are giving us a sneak peek of klay thompson on the court. we've got kron 4 sports director jason dumas us with the latest. >> the niners won their 3rd straight game on sunday when they took down the vikings. but it did not come without call deebo samuel and fred warner have already been ruled out for next week's divisional matchup. >> against the seahawks for deebo if a strained groin and will be out one to 2 weeks.

>> and thanks for joining us on a tuesday. i'm sorry a full. and i'm james fletcher and i ran into a little bit of fog on my way and i'm curious about you coming in from the north i have no idea. i did not know. i i i i'm pretty sure look, i'm looking at the goal to don't check. don't cheat. it was clear it was killer. talking about some spotty fog know didn't hit me i was in the bubble. it's just james's levels coming through. the only one i didn't see it either. so but there definitely are patches out there just to confirm what james is saying. it's just patches and only for some of us and mostly for those inland areas. a couple spots right along the bay are certainly in the midst of the fog as well, though the golden gate bridge is not one of those spots. absolutely. a clear start to the morning. now, chp has issued a fog advisory for the golden gate bridge. so do watch for maybe a couple of areas around the morning headlines that are looking at that. but the bridge itself is good. hayward mountain view san jose
