morning. live shot of the east bay shoreline shows a pretty much lit up. we have some water colors at work on the skies for now. so nice start to the day. now, having said all that, what things look like. upstream weather is a front still there. it's really kind of a a joke in some ways to produce any rain for us. we're calling this maybe a sprinkle opportunity happening on tuesday whatever. it's really the with the wind pattern. that's going to be really worth noting all this now our temperatures currently notice up in the north bay there got some upper 30's get used to this in the inland valleys after this frontal system on tuesday. we got morning lows will be quite chilly wednesday and thursday too. now the winds note the direction got a lot of arrows going coming from an offshore direction. but we've had recent rain. so we're in the clear, however, these will pop a little bit after our next frontal system. something to watch a bit 57 by 11 o'clock it too. we're talking 64. we have wonderful numbers to talk about here for the day today. it's still going to be a time. no, but lots of sunshine for you. and a look ahead to what we expect on tuesday and

beyond. sarah. >> thank you, dave. turning now to a developing story in the east bay walnut creek. police arrested 3 people after the nordstrom in broadway plaza was looted last night. we've seen this before, but last night police say about 80 people rushing to the store an, started clearing the shelves. we've got kron four's, camila barco live in walnut creek with the details camilla what we know. >> well, sarah, right now you can't even tell it norström was looted from looking outside. however, they did damage the inside of the store. like you said, police say that 80 people rushed into norström looted, the place and emptied the shelves. now just before 9 police showed up to the scene. investigators say that they got a call around 8.46, last night of cars driving recklessly around broadway, plowed plaza. and that's where north from is located. 2 minutes later, a security guard from apple called the police department flagging down the report by

8.49 or north employee called police and they sat around a 100 people were rushing into the store and taking all of the merchandise now officers estimate around 80 people rushed into north strong. the people involved in not smash any of the outside windows however, they did break the case is inside. one person was out here when everything was going on. here's what they had to say. >> i mean, honestly like as soon as i saw people running military ice probably saw 50 to 80 people like ski mask, crowbars night like a bunch of weapons they were looting the north. rain here. and there's all these. usually it's really busy. there's always cars part. i thought maybe they're going to start cars like i had to start locking the front door lock the back door because you never know they're just right there. they can come right in here. it was crazy for second. >> now investigators are confident the people involved are adults investigators also say that the only looted

norström police arrested 3 people with charges of robbery and conspiracy and they did find one firearm on one of those arrested. but police are still gathering information and sarah, this north normally opens around 11 on sunday mornings. however, it's unclear if they will reopen today. back to you. that could really i'm sure they have a lot to clean up and didn't see any broken glass over there. do you. >> like i said, can't even tell that your store was looted from looking on the outside. this is currently broadway plaza and this is the entrance to north trump. but the windows out here have not been broken. but police say that they the looters who were out here yesterday did the cases that were inside the store. camilla, thank you so much for that report. we'll check back in with her and about an hour from now. >> and well, this is the aftermath at the louisville ton store in union square.

also looted and vandalized. but friday night that happened. you may recall the video that went viral and now city leaders say they have had enough kron four's. gayle ong has more on the plans moving forward on preventing these types of crimes from happening. >> saturday afternoon. the louis store temporarily closed and boarded up. but shoppers still visiting the area. this was the scene around 08:00pm in san francisco's union square friday night when officers responded to looting and vandalism and high-end stores. what we saw was horrible at a press conference saturday mayor london breed praising the officers who responded and made arrest but says the damage still remains when people vandalize and commit those level of crimes in san francisco. we not only lose those businesses, we lose those jobs. >> we lose that tax revenue that helps to support our economy. that helps to support many of the social service programs that we have in the city in the first place. as of

saturday sfpd chief bill scott says several people have been arrested. some of them think they got away with it. >> but i am confident i'm confident that there will be more arrests to follow chief scott says 2 firearms were seized and the person in this vehicle was armed. they took him into custody safely. >> they use the minimal amount of force that they had to use. they recovered the firearm. they impounded that vehicle and they recovered some of the property. >> chief scott has about a dozen other businesses were burglarized and looted in a nearby union square. some crimes were prevented. we were fortunate because the city and our police department had a strong presence here in union square specifically for the holiday season moving forward. the area will be flooded with officers for the foreseeable future. we don't want people as they shop and enjoy themselves in this city. >> then the robbed as they walk to their car or to get to their car and find broken glass everywhere because their car has been broken into. >> this has to stop.

>> and in the wake of these crimes. the city says there will be limited access to vehicles in the union square area that will take effect in the near future and san francisco, gayle ong kron 4 news. >> a carjacking in oakland turned into a deadly police officer involved shooting. oakland. police say it all started around 3 yesterday afternoon when they were responding to a report of an armed carjacking and robbery on fisher avenue in last us. this is video from the citizen app. they say they found a stolen car in the suspected carjacker standing outside of the car near 49th and clark streets. when they tried to approach them. police say the person shot at officers several times and then drove off police and a helicopter followed. the suspect to ocean view drive thoughts when they say the person tried to ram the officers with their cars. police say they shot the person, the person died some time later at the hospital. police say they were also investigating another shooting

>> welcome back cruz in southern california are monitoring another oil sheen off the coast of huntington beach. the u.s. coast guard says the oil spill was reported yesterday afternoon around one 30, it was in the same area where an oil pipeline spilled 25,000 gallons of oil into the ocean in october. investigators believe at that time, anchor from a cargo ship hit the pipeline leading to the spill. authorities say they could no longer see the oil sheen by 4.30 yesterday afternoon. federal investigators identified a second ship that that may have been involved in the orange county oil spill officials with the in the in

the investigation, the coast guard and national transportation safety board suspect a ship called beijing. they say it may have snagged its anchor on a pipeline, causing it to rupture authorities boarded the vessel this past thursday as part of their investigation. investigators were originally looking at another large cargo ship called the m s seed and it and in acre, dragging that happened months before the leak happened. they say bowl ships could have been involved in damaging the pipeline. now to a reversal of fortune for drivers who scooped up cash that fell all over the place on the san diego freeway in carlsbad. they had to give it back or risk being arrested. authorities have plenty of pictures and video of the cash collectors. thanks to social media. people pretty much turned himself in that way. those people had a deadline of 48 hours to turn the money in the cash bill from an armored truck friday morning and scattered all over the freeway bringing traffic to a halt. 2 people arrested in many more

with meteorologist dave sphar. dave, what are we working with. i know people were really hoping we get some rain this week because we're in a drought, but also people. we have thanksgiving coming up. you know about the only thing of this rain, then we can maybe see is mike dirty up your car. but that's about all we're going to get out of this thing. it's really a joke on that. >> the action the lasting impact from this is going to be some winds initially. and then later on some colder temperatures particular those overnight lows which you'll see in our extended forecast right now. there's the shot from a uc berkeley in the east bay shoreline. not a bad start. not much. the way of fog either golden gate bridge, very clear about that. sunrise going off to the distance there. there you got the flag flapping too little bit of an offshore wind that we have across the bay today. still moist enough. it's not posing a problem. however upstream. that's what we're talking about. this front that we're hoping to bring us something we could call rayne now it's maybe a pass or get a sprinkle temperature check. this is right now. we've got the upper 30's up in the north bay

food banks across the bay area are sprinting to the finish line. so busy volunteers are packing and distributing thousands of pounds of food for family, for all the families depending on this service for their holiday meals. kron four's. phillipe djegal reports from san jose. that's where second harvest of silicon valley says it could use more help. >> tracking and distribution kicked into high gear at second harvest silicon valley in sand and say we've been doing this for 20 bucks. and secure south be families rely on the food bank. year round. but there is no busier time than the holiday season volunteer in team lead in the answer been more than 400 hours of this year. ever since covid the numbers have just gone through the the food bank is feeding about 450,000 people each month that some 80% increase. >> from before the pandemic. this year. we're providing 22% more for peace than he did last year. second harvest

anderson was in east oakland yesterday giving out thanksgiving grocery bags to people in the neighborhood. anderson grew up just down the street on 95th street in oakland, families were able to get a turkey all the fixings and masks anderson also signed autographs and took pictures. it was all made possible through his jta foundation. >> want to remain president. my regardless of what happened in my professional life like business. still. this is still apartment extension of my life. my family's here, my friends are here. >> and like i said, i want remain consistent president trying to help my community. i want to continue to be that guy that people know, as you know, in the community cares about the community cares about the people. you know, i am the people and for the and so. >> you know, basketball school bus was fun. i just my job, something i love to do, no, that is the people i'm around my family stuff to us. that's the room for stuff. >> well, his gray, anderson

>> welcome back. as the holiday travel season heats up health experts are hoping it doesn't ignite a winter wave of new covid cases. the cdc says more than 110,000 new cases were reported thursday with the seven-day average above 94,000 friday. the cdc gave full approval for booster shots for all adults. but some 47 million american adults remain unvaccinated upper midwest states like minnesota are feeling the impact of that one. minnesota school district is extending thanksgiving break too 9 days because of an outbreak yesterday philadelphia became the latest big city in man to mandate vaccinations for multiple or rather municipal employees

joining a dozen others, including new york, la and chicago. some 40 in the cdc has released a new report on the impact of covid on pregnant women and their chances of delivering a stillbirth. jesse turner has the latest. >> according to the cdc report released friday researchers found among covid infected pregnant women, about one in 80 deliveries resulted and stillbirth. and among the uninfected. it was one and 155. the cdc's report says stillbirths were more common in pregnant women with covid who have chronic high blood pressure and those in intensive care or on breathing machines doctor jessica grayson says she had no complications after receiving both doses of the vaccine and had a successful delivery in april. i got my first pfizer vaccine on december the 18th. i was 21 weeks pregnant. >> and. i was really excited.

details. camilla. another just praising robbery. we're seeing a lot of them in the bay area. >> well, sarah, this, when you can't even tell that north shore was looted from looking outside the windows are not shattered shattered. however, the case is inside the store were damaged and this was moments before it closed. norström was scheduled to close its doors around 09:00pm instead, the store turned into a crime scene. here is a look. investigators say they got a call around 8.46, last night of cars driving recklessly around broadway plaza. it's where north from its located and by 8.49 a store employee called the police and they sat around a 100 people were rushing into the store and taking all of the merchandise now officers estimate around 80 people ransacked nordstrom. the people involved in not smash any of the outside windows. however, they did break the case is inside the store. one person witnessed the entire act. and here's what they had to say.

viral online. 8 arrests have been made in that case. this morning. city leaders have a stern word for people thinking of committing these types of crimes in the city. kron four's gayle has more. >> saturday afternoon. the louis store temporarily closed and boarded up. but shoppers still visiting the area. this was the scene around 08:00pm in san francisco's union square friday night when officers responded to looting and vandalism and high-end stores. what we saw was horrible at a press conference saturday. mayor london breed praising the officers who responded and made arrest but says the damage still remains when people vandalize and commit those level of crimes in san francisco. we not only lose those businesses, we lose those jobs. >> we lose that tax revenue that helps to support our economy. that helps to support many of the social service programs that we have in the city in the first place. as of saturday sfpd chief bill scott says several people have been

a call of a man with a knife inside of a building near folsom and 5th streets after initial contact with money officers fired hitting him medics rushing to the hospital, but he died later. police say a moneys, someone that's known to police. the shooting is under investigation. the department says a town hall meeting on the shooting will be held in about 10 days from now. right now a manhunt is underway in atlanta for the man police say fired a gun in the main security checkpoint at the hartsfield jackson international airport. you can see it's chaos. police are looking for 42 year-old kenny wells. they say he reached into his bag grabbed the gun and it went off which caused chaos. they said among those traveling see them running all over the place. this is the person they're looking for. police say wells ran away from the airport. the faa temporarily ordered a ground stop before resuming normal operations about 2 hours later

sarah and maybe just bump up those temperatures ever so slightly in some of those inland valleys. >> good start even at the coast. not much the way of fog happening there. little bit around the bay. but that's also mixed away very nicely, too. get a load. the golden gate, nice blue skies off towards the background. we had a little. we do still have a little bit of an offshore breeze, as you will notice. i point that out because later on in the forecast period after this front follows through. we'll have the typical offshore winds that we've had again recent rains or not in the dry. planetary boundary layer problem that we were a few weeks back temperature check for you were still chilly up in santa rosa 3945 tri valley. we have a mixture of 50's and 40's along the east bay shoreline, kind of a hodgepodge mixture. so central valley fog mixes out both today it redeveloped a little bit tomorrow mixes out nicely and then by tuesday morning things get more interesting here. some scattered clouds associated with that might pick up a stray sprinkle, but it's on the backside. we'll get that offshore wind and with some drier air moving in here. some

the u.s. coast guard says the oil sheen was reported yesterday afternoon around one 30. it was in the same area where an oil pipeline spilled 25,000 gallons of oil into the ocean in october. in venice, investigators believe an anchor from a cargo ship hit the pipeline leading to that spill. authorities say they could no longer see the oil sheen as of 4.30 yesterday afternoon. meanwhile, dramatic body camera video out of all of boulder, colorado shows the moments of a man when he jumped into the arms of a firefighter and a police officer flynn from a fire in the man's condo and while many people living in the building were able to get out on their own others couldn't because of the smoke and the heavy flames. that's when crews caught the man as he jumped from the 3rd floor. >> something i've never trained on never performed. i mean, that's not something you can simulate somebody jump in from a 3rd floor. that's wild. >> the fire damaged more than 80 units inside the building

however, it turned into a crime scene. here is a look. investigators say they got a call around 8.46, last night of cars driving recklessly around broadway plaza. it's where northam is located by 8.49 a store employee called police and they say people were rushing into the store and taking all of the merchandise now officers estimate around 80 people ransacked norström. the people involved in not smash any of the outside windows however, they did break the case is inside now right across the street from nordstrom is a pf chang's. the manager was on duty. and here's what he had to say. >> i mean, honestly like as soon as i saw people running military ice probably saw 50 to 80 people like ski mask, crowbars night like a bunch of weapons they were looting the north. rain here. and there's all these usually it's really busy. there's always cars part. i thought maybe they're going to start cars like i had to start locking the front door lock the back door because you never know. they're just right there. they can come right in here. it was crazy for second.

back in with her in about an hour on kron on. but this been happening all over the bay area. >> remember the loot on store in union square that was looted and vandalized as well. it happened friday night. the video went viral online 8 arrests have been made this morning. city leaders have a stern word for people thinking of coming to the city to commit these types of crimes. kron four's gayle ong has the story. >> saturday afternoon. the louis store temporarily closed and boarded up. but shoppers still visiting the area. this was the scene around 08:00pm in san francisco's union square friday night when officers responded to looting and vandalism and high-end stores. what we saw was horrible at a press conference saturday mayor london breed praising the officers who responded and made arrest but says the damage still remains when people vandalize and commit those level of crimes in san francisco. we not only lose those businesses, we lose those jobs. >> we lose that tax revenue that helps to support our

welcome back. it's 9.10 in crews in southern california are monitoring another oil sheen off the coast of huntington beach. >> the u.s. coast guard says the oil spill was reported yesterday afternoon around one 30, it was in the same area where an oil pipeline spilled 25,000 gallons of oil into the ocean back in october. investigators believe at that spill that that spill was caused by an anchor from a cargo ship hitting the pipeline. authorities say they could no longer see the oil

have to look forward to, you know, a couple little sprinkles. we might get on tuesday with the system. but again, it's going to be is offshore winds afterwards. that will be tuesday afternoon into tuesday night to look out for a little bit blue skies as you can see at the golden gate. there's our offshore winds checking in right now as we speak. that's the front upstream want to watch out for on tuesday. temperature. check for you. we've got the mid to upper 50's along the east bay shoreline. for the most part, chilly 47 fremont, 46 santa rosa, nice recovery from those 30's. we've been seeing all this morning and these inland spots with note you might have some frost going on after this front as well with really cold temperatures getting around freezing potentially as we go forward. let's look at futurecast for not much to see. this is basically the morning fog. it's noting that again. we'll do the same thing on monday as well. and what we're really waiting for is just this front to drop south. it kind of makes his appearance known here late on monday, tuesday. there we go. and a couple stray sprinkles and it falls apart. so this is

>> every year christmas in cordova provides christmas presents to 350 families. that's about 800 children to the rancho cordova police department's youth services unit. our families will be driving through. will. we will have a winter wonderland set up. i still don't drive through a ton of lights and pop ups. and you know, fun christmas seen christmas music. santa is on hand as each family receives a bag of handpicked toys which the children placed on a wish list as toys are donated leading up to the one-day event. they're stored away until staff is ready to sort and wrap them all the donated toys have been housed in a storage just like this one. and when they went to check on them on thursday. they discovered with the recent storms have done. we found that after the storm had come through a couple weeks before. they had all been destroyed. there was. >> water and and by then.

us 50's over most of the real estate we have 46 up to santa rosa. they've been struggling all this morning to get into the 30's out of the 30's. that's a sign of some things to come. potentially some frost to look out for later. 53 san jose and san francisco checks in at 59 the front that's going to kind of a change for us is upstream. you can see here, not a lot of moisture with it looks kind of potent there with all the cloud cover. but it's going to come by without really much of an incident here. this is very reminiscent of what we see. a lot of these fronts coming through even during our wet season or the drought of various different years. we get the come from the north. they look great. they fall apart in our backyard. we've already had a nice treat thus far. so all right. will miss this one. but hopefully will be more treats for us upstream. case in point, what looks great upstream how about that way upstream. that's into next week. not next tuesday. but the following tuesday. hopefully that will hold together there for some rain. 4 zone forecast for you on this sunday, 67 san francisco. mid 60's, covers of the coast kind of mir's that on the bay
