area were given the wrong dose. of covid vaccines. yeah. it happened at sutter health in antioch. the hospital promising to make changes so it doesn't happen again. but kron 4, sarah stinson. >> is in the newsroom this morning to let us know how much the kids got mat dos. and if it's a problem morning sarah. >> well, as you can imagine, parents in the east bay became outraged when they found out sutter health gave 14 kids the wrong dose of the pfizer vaccine. this morning. sutter health explains what happened. take a look at your screen. doctor jimmy hugh. he wrote in the statement he's the chair of the hospital's covid-19 vaccine task force and pete rishon wrote in a statement, quote, this weekend. 14 patients are in pediatric vaccine clinic received vaccines with an incorrect amount as soon as we learned of this we contacted the parents and advise them of the cdc guidance in the situation. doctor hugh continue to say the safety of our patients is our top priority and we immediately reviewed our processes to help make sure this doesn't happen again. the

hospital says according to the cdc patients who received the vaccine with incorrect volume may experience more arm soreness fatigue headache or a fever in response to the dose given pfizer specifically put a different color cap on the child sized doses to avoid mix-ups like these orange caps for kids in purple for the regular dose. you can see on your screen the vaccine for kids ages 5 to 11 years old also has about a 3rd of the amount given to teens and adults. the kids vaccine also has a smaller needle. so definitely differs. and so we're trying to get a hold of a health officials this morning to address any concerns of parents may have because as we know, it's important that kids get vaccinated, but the parents who are weary may be even more wary. now the contra costa health department continue to encourage parents on twitter saying if you get your kids fully vaccinated or if your

kids get the first dose by this friday will be fully vaccinated by christmas kwanzaa and end of the year. gathering saying that's the best thing to do. all be continuing to follow this story as it develops from the newsroom. of course, trying to get you all the details on this and what parents should do if this does happen to their kids for now. back to all right. thank you very much, sir. >> 5 the time in san francisco. doctors are concerned that the walgreens pharmacies that have been closing in the city are going to have an impact on vaccinations because as we told you, walgreens is closing now 5 more stores in san francisco by the end of the month because of so much shoplifting. 2 locations close yesterday. another is going to close tomorrow there's been about a dozen before that. now this is already affecting people's ability to get their prescriptions ucsf infectious disease. specialist doctor peter chin-hong is now worried the kids and adults are also going to have less a vaccine because of it. >> you want to meet people where they are with vaccines.

managed to get the state funding while still serving in the state assembly. >> what we're talking about is being able to support outdoor performances in and around these incredible live music venues to really remind folks of the magic of music and to ensure that we are keeping folks employed and bringing people back to these incredible establishments. >> they're still working out all the details. but these concerts could get under way some time next year. >> well, supply chain problems are having a major impact now on small businesses here in the bay area. david ne felled co-owns a chef chief see you bright chief in san francisco. and he says that most business owners are having a lot of problems just getting products and before the pandemic, things that arrived in about 6 weeks can now take 6 months and some farmers are paying a premium to pick crops, a cost that's being passed on now to restaurants and diners. >> when you look at the pricing at a restaurant and

things are going up. you know, people just need to be aware that, you know, a lot of these restaurants are not trying to get rich right there trying to survive. >> kkk set up try anyway. he says a lot of restaurants are also struggling with debt to on top of the supply problem. so just one on top of the other well happening today in the east bay. the walnut creek city council is considering making a buffer zone around planned parenthood to cut down on confrontations between protesters and patients. a staff report shows that police received 42 calls for service from at planned parenthood couple of our between. the beginning of the year. the complaints range from verbal and physical harassment us to intimidation of patients and blocking sidewalks. police say they've gotten calls from both sides blaming the other oakland napa and san francisco already have buffer zones. the meeting is set for 06:00pm. >> it's 5 '08. and still ahead on this tuesday morning, president biden signed his new

deal. he points to the rolling blackouts and public safety power shut-offs that have become more common than anything is one of the things that could potentially be fixed with this. the mayor says billions of dollars in this new bill will help make the state's electric grid. a lot more reliable. he says it will also help bring cleaner energy to the city as well. >> that seems to be an issue that not a lot of folks pay a lot attention to, but it's really critical for us as we make a transition to a clean energy future. if we're going to be able to tackle climate change. it's going to require electric grid that's ready for that. >> and the funding will also help improve public transportation in san jose. much of that centers on the deer dawn station. which leaders are hoping to transform into what they call the grand central station of the west with some of that infrastructure bar is also hoping to benefit from the new infrastructure deal. >> the agency says the money could allow bar to get more trains into the rotation and to get to the system operating that. >> right now we run 24 trains

amazon will have to pay $500,000 and publicize covid case numbers among its employees. it's all part of a first of its kind judgment announced by california's attorney general rob bonta in a news conference yesterday. he said that amazon fail to adequately notify workers at their warehouses and local health agencies of covid case numbers as part of a deal with the department of justice. amazon has agreed now to notify its covid notification system. it also has to submit to monitoring and pay $500,000 to the state for further enforcement. >> the key focus here is that the health and safety of our

it's not read it's a further inland this morning. so golden gate actually doing pretty good this morning. >> we are looking at some dense fog advisories for the inland valleys of the east bay as well as portions the in the north bay too. but like daryn james noted, not so much across the golden gate bridge in fact, looking at san francisco in this camera view. you can see that we do have low cloud cover overhead but visibility is fine for most of those coastal spots. >> half moon bay is seeing some lower visibility. but again, that is right above the coastline as you head up 92 on up into the upper elevations. the peninsula. that's where you're going to be running into it, especially dense fog for the central valley out into solano county in some portions of the east bay also running into it. so be mindful of these areas as you're getting out there. there are pockets of lower visibility for sure this morning that you want to be at least aware of 50's for our current temperatures dublin. you're at 50 to oakland and san mateo at 54 san francisco and alameda

what we know so far will it with a whole lot of damage with this one. >> a whole lot of damage and it was brazen. this happened at the sun valley mall inside iceberg diamonds. let's get right to the video. you can clearly see the employees instead of working with the customers they had to clean up all that shattered glass duryea like your word because it was 10 amount to a high speak has it happened at 7 o'clock last night when the store was open them all obviously had a lot of people inside. they probably know this surveillance footage, but they still went inside used hammers and broke multiple cases. not exactly sure at this time. how much money amount as far as the jewelry that was taken. but we will reach out to the concord police department to try to get a description of the suspects reportedly james and ari, as many as 9 of them came in sight and took off with the jewelry. we do know that nobody was injured during this heist. but why they chose

iceberg diamonds. that's still under investigation where they were targeted. they were it's they looked out for that place on opening or this was planned. we will try to find out more information on that. as far as iceberg diamonds, they had to shut down for the night. they had to work with the police department. i am sure at this particular times being a diamond store and all that they have surveillance footage and we are waiting to hear from the concord police department to see if we can get footage so we can pass it along to you so that that could help the concord police department get information to track down these people. i love that word heist aria because to go inside with. yeah. many as 9 people when it's fully open at 7 o'clock at night. that's pretty breezy right back and and and 9 guys, i can't wait. like you said, will to see the footage 9 guys with hammers just. >> attacking the yeah. it's crazy to think that that that this was possible credible. you know, is probably pretty

one city council member says police need to expand their violence prevention efforts. >> this is happening way too frequently and it is maddening. we have to engage with family members who we know have a weapon and, you know, may be considering using it. that we really pleased with in and convince them that there are other ways to resolve issues challenges that they're facing. >> kron 4 reach out to the police, but they haven't given us any more details about the recent shootings or any progress they've made with those specific cases happening today, oakland mayor libby shaft is going out to the probe. it program to prevent homelessness or help. the mayor is going to be joined by community leaders launching a new rental assistance pilot program and they're hoping this program will help people from being displaced in the first place. the bayer should make this announcement at 1015, this morning. so you can always count on kron on. oakland by the way, is trying
