the bay area here as well. so if you're waking up this morning, it is the east bay, the north bay and the delta where we're seeing those pockets of fog. we've got a live look outside right now to berkeley hills and you can see that low visibility definitely want to leave your house early. but i always say that we're looking at our forecast right now into your early monday morning. you can see where the visibility is mostly impacted conquer up in santa rosa as well in the south bay. it's hard to see down the amount of the visibility almost at little to nothing in pockets here in the east bay, not so bad. and as we start to go into later in the afternoon. that fog continues to roll out looking at our radar. what we don't see any sprinkles at this moment thursday into friday. we're expected to have another week system make its way. so we are anticipating light rain. those days current temperatures outside right now looking at 50's across our map. dublin livermore. that's the coolest 49 there in oakland berkeley 53 san francisco in the mid to upper 50's. we'll have more

weather coming up. but for now, let's switch gears from other hat. let's do traffic right now heading from the east bay into the city. a little under 10 minutes for your drive time there. let's get a look at the san mateo bridge heading across towards the peninsula under 13 for you to make that commute this morning. also looking at the golden gate bridge as you're traveling out of richmond richmond center, fell commute. nice and light for us a little under 9 see that low visibility there and the golden gate bridge about 20 minutes traveling from the north bay into the city. hey, we're going have more weather and traffic all throughout the morning. got to get you where you need to go. but for now, daryn james, i'll send it back to you. thank you, ray. 5 to and news that we're following a major pharmacists strike has been canceled due hold off overnight. kaiser permanente reached an agreement on a new contract with this 1200 pharmacists in northern california. >> those pharmacists were set to strike today and it was expected to have a huge impact, of course, here in the bay area. >> instead those pharmacists will be on the job after a tentative deal was reached.

talk about the 11th hour. 1 o'clock this morning. they finally hammered out a deal. yeah. the union says they've agreed to wage increases better health care. >> and retirement benefits. the agreement also includes more voters opportunities for that good thing. yeah, able to come to an agreement because boy, i mean, i've been lined up at the pharmacy and i see them working working working. they are busy. absolutely. so the union representing the more than 50,000 workers on the west coast of those workers. also had a scheduled to strike for today as well. but luckily all that's going to be staved off kaiser says that they're still negotiating with other unions representing engineers. >> and then they also have mental health professionals that are in talks right now to those unions have strike scheduled for thursday and friday. so stay tuned. the story's not over yet. these are people than in jobs. and we really needs right >> 5. '03, right now and a mother and a child were hit in a drive-by shooting in oakland kron 4. sarah stinson joining us with the latest here in the studio. sarah, what what happened? >> james, we're still waiting

for all of the details to flow into our newsroom. but witnesses tell us the victims are a mother and her 11 year-old child. you can see in the video from the scene. a window of the home was shattered. it happened around 1030 last night. witnesses tell us this happened on the 7500 block of sterling drive that is in the oakland hills near 5.80, video from the scene shows a heavy police presence at this point. we do not have any updates on from police. we don't know the condition of the victims reports on the citizen app say the woman was shot in the stomach and the child was shot in the arm. we're still waiting for more information from police on their investigation i'm sure it's very much active as we speak. and i'm going to be in the newsroom, getting the latest updates for you. darya james. so still a lot more to learn and hopefully those details will trickle in as the morning goes on. back to you. all right. thanks, sarah. >> 5. on thursday near lake merritt has unfortunately died from her injuries. police say they found the victim right after midnight last thursday on lakeshore avenue. the woman died over the weekend. investigators say they are still looking for the shooter this morning. time now is 5. '04. and today more police officers are going to be at a north bay middle school. >> because that school got a bomb threat. yeah. so the extra security is going to be at kendall's worth junior high school petaluma. and we have proper evans live at that school this morning with more on exactly what's happening out there. the only good morning. >> yeah. good morning, james. yes. so it was over the weekend that the police say that they received information about a possible bomb threat here at kenilworth junior high school. in fact, let's just show you a map of where this school is located. another threat was made using this anonymous app call. stop it, which is designed to stop and address safety issues. now

police say that on sunday the app sent the department and the school district a notification an alleged bomb threat that would occur on friday, november 19 now a finnish officials have interviewed students who reported the threat as well as those allegedly involved in this bomb threat. police say that they have no found or they haven't found any credible credible evidence i mean, they haven't found any credible evidence about any of the things they've investigated, but they are still investigating and continuing this investigation taking it very serious and trying to ease everyone's of fears about this possible bomb threat. so they said they will have more police on of patrolling the area being here on campus today here today. >> because the school will be open. even this bomb threat was put out. they still feel that it's safe enough to keep the school open and they will

have more patrol cars around here just to make sure that nothing goes wrong. and of course they're reaching out to the community and to the student body that if you do have any information you should contact either the school or the police department as soon as people start to arrive arriving. we will talk to them and see how they're feeling this morning that they feel confident ith the response from the police department. but they are saying that they're trying to make it as safe as possible. and like i said, the investigation continues. back to you guys. thank you, ali. >> it's 5 or 7. and in the east bay hateful slurs in messages found on walls of an asian owned business in oakland's chinatown neighborhood. they recently spotted at newton's market on 7th street. karl chan, the president of the oakland chinatown chamber of commerce says that he first alerted business owners about the anti-asian slurs. they were written on the walls and says the owners called the police chan has been an active voice in the community as asian american attacks have become

more frequent in the pandemic. he says the rhetoric surrounding his community is an ongoing problem. >> community, especially the pandemic. and then all to people in. and many people, especially it with a tent. not basically some people also being too just because of the rhetoric. i think it's important for us to it's going nation. you stand racist understand and we must find ways to educate everybody. >> chan says that this most recent incident is the first in a few weeks after there's been increased security by the police and community patrols in the area chambliss to make calls to local, state and federal officials to try to get them to come together and stop hate crimes and racism. >> well, fortunately in related news in san francisco. mosque was vandalized and now investigators are trying to determine if it was a hate

crime as well. you can see the damage here in the video, somebody threw a beer bottle through the window of the islamic center of san francisco. people were inside when it happened. and in the security video you can actually see when we loop it again. somebody throw that bottle and then run off the islamic center has been part of the san francisco community since the 1950's and they are one of the oldest mosques in california. >> the community shaken we're trying to restore that sense of safety and security that people feel the mosque and we asked the police department to do their due diligence and try to apprehend the suspect. and, you know, restore that sense safety security, the, you know, once felt. >> well, it's police say it's still too early in the investigation to know who did this but leaders at the mosque don't believe that they have had any previous interactions with this person on the video who threw the bottle. we'll see what police find out. >> it's 5. >> 5.13. you don't have to go to tahoe anymore. there's bears the backyards of people apparently this one spotted a country can make it out right there. you can see some movement in the trees. it was spotted up in the tree during the day finally came down around 10 o'clock last night. but police say it was hanging out in that redwood tree. ever since 2 o'clock that very morning. >> so on sunday was kind of an told everybody the cop said stay in place. stay in your house just in case and the animal service up there says

that fog and low visibility start to dissipate. if you want to know what to put on this morning here. your highs for today. san francisco, upper 60's, low 70's here. el granada 70's half moon bay in the upper 60's burlingame millbrae lower 70's a good foster city. san carlos all low 70's mountain view 71 for you. saratoga 78 morgan hill 81 dublin, pleasanton, livermore all in the low 70's this morning. so again, we have some nice temperatures. it's middle of the week when we start to cool down a bit late help pittsburgh all upper 60's santa rosa had a little bit and nevada low 70's talking about that 7 day forecast. we start off sunny here. we start to cool down a bit into our 60's 40's and 50's. and it's not until thursday and friday where we see the potential chance of light showers. the north bay may get the heaviest of that. so again, keeping a close eye on that. switching gears. let's get a look at your roadways this morning. no major hot spots or delays. if you're heading from the east bay into the city. a little

under 10 minutes for your drive time there. the san mateo bridge. you had a cross towards the peninsula little under 13 to make that commute richmond center fell bridge. nice and light a little undermine minutes. it looks like out in nevada. there is an accident there. that's one. oh, one northbound. north allerton avenue. so again, i'm not seeing any major delays in connection to that accident. and leave you with a look at the golden gate bridge, about 20 minutes traveling from the north bay into the city will have more weather and traffic coming up. but for now, daryn. james, let's get back to the news. >> all right. thank you very much. rain at 5.17 is the time and former trump adviser and campaign manager steve bannon is expected to make his first court appearance later today is expected to turn himself in after being indicted on 2 counts of contempt of congress. the charges came after bannon filed or failed, i should say, too comply with subpoenas from a house committee investigation. bannon claim, former president trump's assertion of executive privilege as his reason for not cooperating. however, he

was a private citizen at the time of the insurrection and not a formal part of the white house so that privilege did not extend to him. also happening today, the ports of la and long beach will begin implementing new fines to try and ease the backlog of cargo ships. those fees will target ocean carriers with or who linger too long at port terminals ships. the failed to off load their cargo on time will face penalties of a $100 a day and that fee will increase by another $100 for each day. the containers sit idle local ports are also starting a new q system to reduce the amount of ships that are crowding into waters close to shore call it lines here and they're going to call it a queue system now get in the queue. all right. well, also have big president joe biden expecting to sign the bipartisan infrastructure bill into law little let me see its new spending anyway for roads and bridges. so that should make a difference. basil john has the latest from washington, dc. >> good morning.

>> well, daryn, james, good morning and yes, many lawmakers and experts say this was a long time coming. but some say that this will lead to nothing but an increase in debt. >> after months of negotiations, president biden will sign off on the bipartisan infrastructure bill. it's the first time the president is actually delivering on a bipartisan infrastructure bill. top white house economist brian deese told abc's this week. the 1.2 5 trillion dollar bill is made up of both long-term and immediate investments to try to get money out to help. for example, upgrade our ports upgrade, our airports, upgrade, our roads. >> we're going to work without without a way to get that money working for the american people and on cnn state of the union michigan republican congressman fred upton defended his support of the bill as he saw it as a necessary step forward. this was a bipartisan plan. it it needed to happen. and i'm i'm glad that we got it past the finish line. but on abc's this

week wyoming republican senator john barrasso slammed the bill and the social spending plan which is going to harm american families. people are going to pay higher prices. they're going to be higher taxes. and of course, we're going to see an increase in the debt even though many senate republicans like senate republican leader mitch mcconnell voted for the bill. barrasso says republicans are united in not supporting the build back better plan. >> now president biden is expected to sign the infrastructure bill this afternoon reporting live in washington. i'm basil john. basil, you caught me off guard. have i not seen you in that long. >> a lot >> yeah, it's been i was governor lee 2 weeks to 2 weeks right there, but it suits your looks good. i love the like that. this is this is changed and this is chains very night very evening. yeah.

to get an update for you by 6. and we'll continue to follow this as the morning goes on. back to you. all right. thank you, sarah. 5.31 is the time. and in the east bay, antioch police are looking for a killer in the latest homicide. investigators right now say they found a 37 year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. >> on the sidewalk near trevor steel way. they say it just happened or it happened just before 11 o'clock saturday night in a dying at the scene. one neighbor told kron 4 that a bullet went through their home. >> yeah. it's it's very nerve wrecking to see the bullet hole right where my brother sleep like that's what his fate would have been if he would sleep in here and thankfully he wasn't homer either of us were home. same. >> and this is just, you know, another instance where bullets flew in went into someone's home. now, in this case this bullet didn't land on someone. but as we talked about there was a man hit not in that home. this drive-by shooting no suspects yet in this case. but what you know, police to 0 in on somebody. meanwhile, in contra, costa county, a

$100,000 bond has been set for 24 year-old natalie. >> cheese charged with stealing a car with a one year-old toddler inside that was last week in pittsburgh. we actually have surveillance video that investigators say shows iola jumping into the driver's seat. and the abduction, as you might imagine, set off an amber alert. the baby was ultimately found safe in that abandoned truck. a short distance away. officers ultimately found and arrested iowa and she remains right now in the martinez detention center awaiting her first court appearance. >> 5.33 and we are now really getting close the holiday season. thanksgiving is next week right. yeah. next we can you imagine next week. so a lot of families are reuniting this year for the first time. i know we are in the first time in a couple years. yeah. that's why we've been seeing a big uptick in expectation for travel at airports covid cases, though the problem is that they are also starting to spike again all around the world. >> they're saying about

with the name brand thinking it's better for their car. but the bottom line is. >> it won't be better for your wallet because you're waking up every day to new record prices. take a look at your screen. here's the bad news. i wish i could give you a sliver of good news. but there isn't any right now. the state average is $4 and $0.68. a complete bargain to what we're paying for in the bay area in san francisco. you're waking up to an average, a $4 and $0.87 in san jose and oakland $4.78 and sandra fell. actually one penny more. then san francisco at $4 and $0.88 and the worst part. they still have not plateaued. according to energy gas experts, they believe the worst is yet to come, especially with so many americans. they plan to hit the road next week for thanksgiving. and that's going to really choke the supply. we talked about how supply and demand really influences, how much we pay at this particular
