70's and again, very similar to what we saw yesterday. it's all thanks to the high pressure that continues stick around the bay area, bringing us these above average temperatures for this time of year and sunshine. i will break all those temperatures down and what it will be in your neighborhood coming up in just a bit. rebecca, thanks for that. all right. so we do have an accident out there on the roadways out in dublin. 5.80, eastbound west of foothill road. so we are seeing just a slight delay as you're traveling along the altamont pass to dublin a little under 8 minutes making it into the city from the east bay and no major delays along 5.80, or 80. we had overnight fatality tragically along 5. '05, that was up in vacaville. but all lanes are open. there a little under 13 minutes heading across towards the peninsula and in the south bay along one o. what about 27 minutes as you're traveling from 85 to menlo park darya james, back to you. thanks a lot. of 5 or 2 in our top story. scary situation for 2. >> different sets of parents here in northern california. 2

incidents where cars were stolen with babies and in both cases the children are safe. so at least there's a. >> a happy ending one incident happened in the city of auburn. the other happened right here in the bay area. and this morning police in pittsburgh are still looking for the woman who made off with that car with a one year-old girl inside a kron 4. sarah stinson on the story for us up in the newsroom. good morning, sarah. >> thankfully, the father of the baby girl reunited after last night's terrifying events this morning. police are still looking for the woman who stole the car with that little girl inside. you can see video of the moments after police finally found that suv and the one year-old girl police say a woman jumped into the father's car and drove away with his daughter after the woman was denied a cigarette. the baby's father was outside of his car at the time talking with someone but left the engine running the girl was secured in a car seat in the back seat. an amber alert was issued immediately. police were looking all over the finally found the suv after

the woman abandoned that car and then the baby was safely inside. they fully this was in a parking lot in pittsburgh where they found the suv and just after 7.30 last night. the girl was found after people heard her screaming and crying. >> the neighbor had called me and i called her back. she told me that it was weird. they pulled up in the car was blocking here. they were blocking the driveway and was just sitting here and they said it was weird because they heard the baby screaming crying, screaming crying and then they looked in their last. the life of a missing near the door was open and they got the baby. is is scares me because i asked. >> i mean, for someone had to pick up the challenge. this is crazy. this is crazy. this is insane. >> it's certainly scary. the suspected car thief is described as a white woman with blond hair in her 30's with a face tattoo on the left side of her face. she hasn't been found yet. that's what

police are working on today. they're reviewing surveillance video from the business where the woman stole the car with the baby inside this morning in the kron 4 news room. we're working to get you an update from police for now back to you. all right. thanks a lot, sarah. >> and the other incident happened when a car with a 7 month old baby was inside and that was in the city of auburn. yeah. so the parents were dropping off their child at daycare when this happened. that's when police say 2 women jumped into the car and took off with the baby inside the woman. then leather the women then led police on a chase down highway one 3193 when the car crashed into a utility pole. >> fortunately the baby wasn't hurt. one woman was arrested immediately after the crash. the other woman took off running police tracked her down after about 30 minutes and she, too, was arrested. well happening today. the oakland chinatown chamber of commerce is expected to announce a reward for information in the search for a shooter after a 23 month old was hit by stray bullet on

interstate 8, a team. the reward now is expected to be $10,000. the incident happened last saturday we told you about jasper will he was riding in the car with his mom when he was hit by that stray bullet. he later died at oakland children's hospital oakland champ. the tri town chamber of commerce is expected to hold a news conference later this morning and we will have coverage of that news conference on our 24 7 new streaming app. kron on. >> time now is 5 '06. and today students are returning to class for the first time since the teacher's aide was struck and killed by a car near sherman elementary school in san francisco kron four's will tran is following the story for us. >> they're now this morning. will. >> it happened 2 days ago, james and there is a vigil at the corner where he was hit. this is at franklin and union and you can see the candles are still burning. people are writing notes to angela zeman's family. he was 30 years old. there's a picture of him right there. look at how close he was to being

safe. this is the vigil across the street is sherman elementary. not he was hit shortly before 8 o'clock in the morning as he was. >> almost a school on wednesday, but he never made it because 2 cars coming down. franklin. they collided with each other. he was in the crosswalk when he was hit, why they crashed into each other is still under investigation. reportedly speeding is possible factor behind the collision. he actually died at the scene. that's how horrific he was hit by the car. yesterday was veterans day. so the classes were not in session yesterday, but the teachers, they actually turned out on wednesday and even on thursday to come out here to remember him to mourn his death and his parents also spoke out saying that he was their only child. so what they will do moving forward is they will have grief counselors at the school. this is an l elementary school. so a lot of kids, as you can imagine. we are in shock and they will be

confused. why their teacher andrew seaman will not be in class today. so there's grief counselors. we'll talk to them also, the city of san francisco. they have a job to do they are looking into a couple of things one is was speed a factor. and if so, the drivers could be charged with this accident. also, they are working to see if there's anything that can be done to make this area safe. his death is the 12th pedestrian deaths in san francisco this year. this is franklin. and if you ever been down franklin is a wide open street and speeding has historically then a factor in many of the accidents that happened at this location back to you, james and area. >> all right. thank you very much. well. 5 people were hurt. they were hit by a car during a vaccination mandate protest on the golden gate bridge. a car smashed into a street sweeper. 2 of the people were hit and to the of those hit were actually police officers and they were taken

to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. the 3 other victims were golden gate bridge district employees. they suffered minor injuries. that's just a live shot of the golden gate bridge this morning. but here's the protest. yesterday and they gathered at the welcome center. at one point the protesters tried to cross the bridge. but authorities were able to keep them from doing that. hundreds of people. we're at this protest calling for the government mandate sta and they called them overreach. one man died and another was injured in an apartment fire in brentwood and a dog died as well. and that fire that broke out. >> in the apartment on nancy street crews found the 2 men and the dog inside the apartment a man was revived at the scene and taken to the hospital. the other man and

the dog didn't make it. it's not clear yet what started that fire. >> we'll take a break here at 5. and weekend. i that's going to as you look at all the good news for us on a friday morning yeah. the good news just keeps on coming right. it is friday. and hey, the weather is shaping up to be another gorgeous afternoon around the bay area. so head outside if you can right now outside. we're a little bit of patchy fog for some our coastal areas, a san francisco international airport. you can kind of see it. i know the still dark in its early around the bay area right now. but we could see just a little bit of the patchy fog here. mostly, though, we're looking clear skies everywhere things are really going to start to clear out into the afternoon and warm up 60's and 70's and throughout san francisco, downtown 70 degrees for the high today. if you're going to be heading over to golden gate park. you'll be at a high of 67 along the coast and another nice day at the beaches. half moon bay coming in at 70 degrees and pacifica 64 today 72 in millbrae 73 for the high in burlingame and then a little bit warmer across a redwood city in woodside in

palo alto versus what we saw yesterday all coming in in the mid 70's at 75 yourself a upper 70's. look at campbell 77 for the high in november is november 12th definitely. well above seasonal averages, 75 for the high and morgan hill today. and we're looking at some mid 70's along the east bay shoreline union city 74 the livermore vallay. we're looking at those low 70's once again downtown oakland, you'll be at 72 for the afternoon high walnut creek 74 and then those warm temperatures continue throughout fairfield and vacaville today both at 72 and you're north bay zone a little bit cooler, of course, is since in beach. 63 degrees but warm and petaluma at 74 and the temperatures are going to be sticking around the warm ones. that is throughout your entire weekend and whole lot of sunshine to enjoy. make those outdoor plans. if you can. we'll see a little bit of clouds return on sunday and then things will start to taper off with a slight cool down starting on monday. next week. i'll have more details

many pastors 2nd half and the fact that passes al sharpton right now. that's fine. but then that's it. one more black package coming in here for jesse jackson, whoever was in was here earlier this week saying with the victim's family trying to influence a jury in this case. and i'm not saying the state is even aware that mister sharpton was in the courtroom. wasn't aware of it until last night. think the poor can understand my concern about bringing people in who really don't have a ties to this case other than political interest. >> he said that he was also concerned the presence of black pastors could be an attempt to intimidate the jury. the judge said he was not making any blanket ruling about who was in the courtroom father and son greg and travis mcmichael and their neighbor. william bryan are charged with murdering arbery in february of 2020 defense attorneys say that travis mcmichael file fired in self defense team.

>> right now. the north bay a vacaville family is enjoying their newborn son. that joy came a little earlier than expected and much emily johnson gave birth to baby thomas on the front lawn of her home. and the whole thing was caught. >> on the family's ring doorbell camera. take a look. >> yeah, this was last thursday night. so basically thomas is a weak cold today. the mother tried to get into the car the hospital. but thomas out of the mama's wanted to come right now, the grandmother was there to help deliver the baby on the front lawn. >> and then the you know, to see the flashing lights. the paramedics got there. dad was there. well, there is all hospital. and this a healthy baby.

on the story for us live in the newsroom. sarah. >> how terrifying is that. but thankfully this morning the father and baby girl they're reunited after last night's terrifying events this morning. police still looking for the woman who stole a car with the one year-old inside. you can see video of the moments after police finally found the suv and the one year-old girl safe. police say a woman jumped into the father's car and drove away with his daughter after the woman was tonight a cigarette. the baby's father was outside of his car at the time talking to someone but left his engine running. the girl was secured in a car seat in the back seat and the amber alert was issued. police went to work and finally found the suv after the woman abandoned it in some kind of apartment parking lot, baby was in the back. they was all good. but apparently the baby was screaming and that's when 7.30 last night they found the girl inside safe so that was the good news, at least the suspected car thief is described as a white woman

with blond hair in her 30's with a face tattoo on the left side. she hasn't been found yet. so police are still working hard. they're reviewing surveillance video from the business where the woman stole that suv with the baby inside so this morning we're trying to get that video, get the latest on the investigation from the kron 4 news room. we'll bring you an update in about 30 minutes back to you. all right. thanks a lot, so the other incident happened when a car with a 7 month-old was inside. an has already mentioned earlier that was in the city of auburn. in that case, the parents were dropping off their child a day care. >> when 2 women jumped into the car and took off with the child inside and the woman then led police on a chase down highway. one 93 when the car ultimately crashed into a utility pole. luckily the child wasn't hurt. one woman is arrested right there at the crash scene. the other one, though, took off running. but police were able to track her down about a half hour later and she to dow is also under arrest time now is 5.31 and. 2

people running for mayor of oakland are weighing in on the gun violence that has plagued the city. >> we told you yesterday on the kron 4 morning news about 3 different shootings that happened in oakland over a 12 hour period. now, 2 mayoral candidates are offering their plans to address gun violence. >> it is important that we have a law enforcement presence to hold the line while we are also investing to address the root causes that lead to the public safety challenges we face. i have fought for better public safety. >> we fought for historic investments in violence. prevention is always important that if we can prevent this from happening before it happens. that is what we should do. >> as of this morning. the city of oakland has had a 119 homicides so far this year. >> in the east bay richmond mayor tom is accusing fellow city council members of plotting a coup. that's a day after the council voted to

condemn him for comments that he made in recent months about a richmond city manager. the issue stems from the mayor's news letters that he regularly posts on his website and on several occasions. the mayor has disparaged the job performance of city manager laureus night meant and city attorney teresa stricker now tuesday. the council voted on will vote or to direct the city attorney to censor the mayor for improperly disclosing attorney client information. the mayor responded saying as you see on your screen, quote as a city council member and mayor. i have a duty to be critical. if warranted of the city manager and let her know when and how her actions fall below what i believe the community expects and quote, now the city attorney has already resigned and will leave office in january. in the south bay san jose police have arrested a man who's accused of committing crimes while acting as a spiritual healer. 42 year-old whole. jorge never ready is accused of crimes, including the rape of a child under the age of 15 police say

it happened between october 2020 and august of this year. it's unclear where he was serving as a spiritual leader. but we'll keep you updated as the story continues to unfold. >> for your help this morning. the cdc says the global threat of measles has become a serious problem. more than 22 million babies have not gotten vaccinated for measles because 70 so busy with covid measles is one of the most contagious viruses known. the cdc says measles vaccination programs prevent more than 31 million deaths worldwide every year and you know, with covid a lot of parents were taking their babies in for vaccinations. just in general, like you normally would. so they're reminding everybody to get their vaccinations for measles happening today in the north bay. more young children can get their covid vaccine at 3 schools in sonoma county. the locations are healdsburg fitch mountain elementary. that's at 3 o'clock. rosa

elementary in santa rosa. they're going to be giving shots at 3.30, at 4. there will do vaccinations for kids at dunbar elementary in glen ellen. for your money this morning. the backlog of shipping at the ports as part of the reason behind the inflation that we're seeing everything costs more everything is going up across the board. >> and they're not going to be going down anytime soon. apparently we have kron four's fleet recall speaking with some shoppers who admit that and they're s and the trip turned into a costly visit china turkey just a very small 10 pound. turkey was 20 to 90. >> so i i can't believe it. in fact, she did a double take. i said, are you sure you did that, right. i made go through it again because i couldn't believe the price. so, yes, it has doubled it has doubled and our paychecks have not doubled and good luck making breakfast. bacon prices are up 20% this year. eggs are 12%

more expensive inflation and the struggle grocers and their suppliers are experiencing trying to keep shelves stocked are contributing factors actually just fried our last bacon this morning from what we purchase. so i don't know what the prices on the next purchase, although some shoppers say they feel like they're being gouged. ultimately they'll make the purchase if they need the item. >> rather than spending extra time looking for a bargain. i used to do that with my father in law. and it drove me crazy because we had to go to a lot of stores in one day. >> and so now i just go the first or you can and get what they need. shoppers seem to have better luck finding deals at the food. max down the street deals that were mostly off brand if they were not already sold out everything to me is doubled and economists say shoppers should expect prices to rise well into next year. >> in concord phillipe djegal all kron 4 news. >> 5.36. is the time. and still ahead on the kron 4
